the prophecy

Chapter 2

Ruby's P.O.V

       It's been five days since dad sent for the trainers. So far only the trainers from the realms of the Merpeople, Vampires, Witches, Phoenixes, Necromancers, and the Centaurs have arrived.  We are still waiting for the Werewolves and Elementals to get here. We heard that they will arrive at some point today. My parents are the only ones to have met the trainers that are already here. But, we will be hosting a bonfire tonight so that we may meet and get to know all of down our trainers. I wonder what my trainers  will be like. I wonder how the schedule will turn out. I wonder-- I hear a door slam before my father's muttering makes it to my ears. I walk downstairs listening to him mumble. "Stupid vision...Stupid elemental wolves... Idiots...Nicholas...Sean..." I gasp and run the rest of the way to him. "WHAT HAPPENED DADDY!?!!!!?!!!!?!!!!?" I yell at him at the same time as Sapphire, who had also heard him muttering. 

        Dad looks at both of us and sighs. "It's nothing girls, the elementals and werewolves will be here any minute, I just spoke on the phone with them. The bonfire will be starting soon, why don't you go get ready, I'm sure you're more than ready to meet your trainers." We hug him before running to our adjoining rooms. We meet in the bathroom and do each other's makeup and hair. We each had a light layer of mascara and colorless lip gloss on. I french braided Sapph's hair and she curled mine. I put on a pair of high-waist jeans and a loose white crop top with a wolf on it, along with a thin black cardigan. Sapph was wearing a pair of black leggings with a loose grey t-shirt that says fate in her favorite color, sapphire blue of course. We headed outside to see if they needed any help getting ready for the bonfire. 

         Mom gave us the job of bringing the food out to the tables on the porch. We had a screen going around the porch to protect it from bugs. The fire already had a blaze going, as I could see people getting out of cars and walking up to it. There was a section for people to play sports if they wanted to, as well as a quiet section and a kids section, it suited the needs of everyone coming. I looked to Sapph and asked "You ready to meet them?" She nodded and looped her arm through mine, together we walked over to the fire. Dad came over to us and brought us around to meet the people who were already at the  bonfire. Everyone we met seemed nice and I could see some of them becoming friends. Sapph and I were taking to a mermaid named Shay and her mate, a warlock named Austin, when we heard a commotion coming from the cars. Sapph seemed to be acting weird, so I called her name but, she just began to walk over to the cars, so I said goodbye to Shay and Austin and quickly caught up to her. 

       As we came closer, I saw that dad was talking heatedly to an attractive guy who seemed distracted. He was glancing around the area every few seconds while dad was talking to him. Listening in I hear "Nicholas, I see you've arrived, now where are your cousins?"Dad asks Nicholas, seeming agitated. "What, oh, they'll be here soon. They decided to run here instead. And please, call me Nick." He says and continues to look around. Who is he and why does he bug dad so much? Dad nods and says "I guess I should take you around to meet my family." Glancing around, dad sees Sapphire and I coming over. His eyes widen and he hurriedly shoves Nick away and over to Ash, our brother. Why is dad acting so weird? Sapph and I change our course and walk to their new position. Only for dad to notice and whisk Nick away to Topaz and Gemma, two of our sisters. As he would move Nick away, we would get more annoyed until we just decided to teleport over to them. 

       Nick and Sapph immediately lock eyes as her hand flies up to her locket. Then it registers, this must be the Nick that Sapph mentioned in the vision! They're mates, Sapph found her mate! No wonder dad was trying to keep us away, he realized that Nick might have been Sapph's mate, and he just wasn't ready for that. Dad sighed and said "You guys just couldn't give up, could you?" I laughed and said "How long did you think you could keep them apart anyways, dad?" He mumbled that he was hoping forever, which earned him a laugh. Sapph and Nick introduced themselves to each other and we all started to talk. He is an only child but he has two close cousins that are coming tonight. All three of them are elemental wolves. Nick's main element is wind.His cousin Sophia's main element is water and his cousin Sean's main element is earth. When Nick mentioned his cousin Sean, dad leaned over to me and whispered "Pretty sure that one's yours." He pointed to my locket, and I lit up at the idea of finding my mate. I asked Nick when they would be arriving and he opened his mouth to answer, just as two figures exited the woods, one male, one female. Nick pointed to them and said "That's them now." We all walked over to them. Nick began to talk to them but the male pushed past him and began walking to me. He looked into my eyes and I was lost. 

      The trance was broken as Nick called out "Dude, this family seems to be a magnet to ours." I looked over to see that Ash was also here now, standing with Sophia. Dad groaned and said. "Why did all of my triplets have to find their mates on the same day?" Our mates look at Sapph, Ash and I before asking "Triplets?" We grin and nod. I say "Sapphire is the oldest, then me, then Ash." pointing at each person. Sean grins and asks "And what is the name of my lovely little mate?" I blush and say Ruby.  "I love it!" Sean exclaims. We spend the rest of the night together, talking and getting to know each other. When it came time to say goodnight, dad informed us that our mates were moved to the rooms across the hall from ours. 

      We grin at each other and we lead our mates through the house. We stay up for a little while, just enjoying everyone's company. I'm overjoyed to finally have my mate, but I can't help but feel worried. I was worried about what Sean would think when he saw the vision. I mean, I admit that I never loved him in it, and that is obviously a lie, because I've only spent one night with him, and I'm already head over heels. I can only hope that he doesn't want to reject me because of the vision. 

       When we finally call it quits for the night, Sean walks me to my door. I kiss him on the cheek and say thank you. I say "I have to show you something, but it has to wait until tomorrow, it's really late. But I need you to promise me something." He nods his head and says "Anything." I take a deep breath and say "You have to promise you won't reject me." He stares at me for a minute and I start to get worried. Oh god, what if he rejects me right now? Oh god no!  Then he does something I wasn't expecting. He kisses me! At first I don't respond, too shocked to move, but then I slowly begin to move my lips against his soft ones. The sparks exploded all over my body. Eventually we have to pull away for a breather. He rests his forehead against mine and says "Wow." I nod and say "Yeah." He pulls me into a hug and says "I will never reject you. I couldn't do that even if it meant I would die. I know we only met tonight, but I already love you with all my heart. Nothing that you could show me would change my mind." Tears spring from my eyes as he wipes them away. 

       I pull him into a passionate kiss, those amazing sparks exploding within me again. I pull away and open my door, I look back at him and say "Night, Sean. And don't worry, I love you too." I wink and pull my door closed, resting my back against it. I breathe out a sigh of relief, Maybe I don't need to worry.  My wolf agrees and says 'Of course not, he loves us!' I know!!!  I sigh dreamily and get changed, then I float over to my bed. 

       After a few minutes, I hear my door creak open and Sean pops his head in. He asks "You still up, love?" I like the sound of that, I think as I sit up. My wolf, Scarlet, purrs in agreement, and I say "Yeah, what's up, mate?" He comes into the room, shutting the door behind him. He stands awkwardly by the door for a few minutes before I decide to take pity on him. I ask "Miss me too much?" to which he mumbles a reply to me. "Sorry what was that?" I ask. He sighs, looks up at me and says "I didn't want to be so far from you, I know it's kind of fast, but can I sleep with you?" I grin and nod my head, scooching over on my bed to make room. He grins and starts to get undressed. "WHOA DUDE, not that far." I say, he just laughs and takes off his jeans, leaving him in only his boxers. My gaze travels up and down his body, before getting caught on his abs. OMG! Our mate has a six pack, oh hot damn! My wolf purrs and tries to get me to look further down. I start to take her advice before Sean interrupts me by clearing his throat.

       My eyes shoot up to his, only to see an amused expression on his face. He smirks and says "Not that I don't love you ogling my body like that-" "I was not ogling!" I cut him off with my obvious lie, whilst blushing a deep red. "Riiiiight, okay anyways, I will probably jump you if you keep it up, and I'm pretty sure your dad would kill me if I did." He says and proceeds to climb into bed next to me. He snuggles up to me and says "Night, Love." I yawn and say "Night, mate" and drift off to sleep with my mate in tow.
