"Stop," I whispered, attempting to push him away. He couldn't keep doing this. But, God, he was incredibly strong; he didn't budge at all. He just looked at me with his stunning ocean-blue eyes-empty of any emotion.
"You can't keep doing this. If you care for my mother, then you need to stop these things with me, Blaze," I said, furrowing my brows slightly.
I was exhausted by his games. I was tired of being hurt over and over. One moment he claims he wants distance, and the next, he's being flirtatious with me again.
"I'm moving to my aunt's house; I won't be living with you anymore," I said, looking down and ready to leave, but he grabbed me tightly by the waist, pulling me back to him.
"You're not going anywhere," he muttered. He couldn't be serious. "You're not safe anywhere except here with me."
"I don't need you, Blaze," I told him, meeting his gaze, which made him roll his eyes in response.
"But your mother needs you. I can't stand to see her in pain," he replied firmly, and it hurt me-he only cared about my mother, not me. I wrested myself from his grip.
"Stop acting like this! You're just playing with my mind and emotions, Blaze!" I exclaimed, tears threatening to spill. He remained silent, his jaw clenched. "Just leave me alone, for God's sake!"
Blaze stepped closer and seized my chin with a rough grip, causing me to whine as he leaned in, his eyes blazing. "Trust me, I don't even want to see your face again, Maya; but I'm powerless because they've targeted you."
His words hit me like a knife. Why then did he kiss me? Why was he gentle with me? More anger welled inside me. I forcefully pushed him away.
"I hate you," I whispered.
"I told you, you mean nothing to m-" Before he could finish, I slapped him hard. How dare he think so low of me.
"Take me home." I whispered under my breath. "I swear to you I won't tell no one about this. I won't ever look at you or even talk to you. I'm done, Blaze,"
Blaze crossed his arms across his chest while his eyes searched my face for a flicker of hesitation but he couldn't detect one. I tucked a loose strand of hair behind my ear, his eyes followed my hand which got me even more nervous.
"I can't do that." He said.
"Why the hell not? I'm not going to say anything, I'll move with my aunt, I'll do anything to be away from you." I said, angrily. Doesn't he get it? I can't be around him without losing myself or hurting my mom.
"You don't get who I am." He shouted, making me jump in the process. "I'm someone very dangerous and I just killed other very dangerous people.
"Who are you?" I asked, he remained silent.
