Tessa and J

Sorry it took me a minute, on AO3 I am working on another Vuzi story,

(Anyways if you have Internet you can listen to one of my new favorite songs that remind me of Tessa and J angst)

Tessa worked in her makeshift office, she heard the door open and turns and looks to see who it was, N, J, V, Uzi and S “hey Tessa! Mind if we drop in?” N waved

Tessa smiles and greeted him, “come in guys!” She greeted warmly, they all sat with Tessa, “so Tessa what are you up to?” J asked, “I was just bandaging my arm, kind cut it on accident” they saw she was holding a cloth to be arm, stained with blood, “oh God Tessa are you okay??” N says and J quickly sat up and ran over to Tessa, “how did this happen??” J says with a worried expression “I'm alright, I just need to clean my arm and patch It up” “I fell and hit my arm on scrap metal” she gestures to the bended metal piece, “it's not rusted is it?” She said “nah it's fine, just need this to get cleaned” She tried to reassure J, who didn't want to hear it She grabbed Tessa's arm and grab the medkit and began cleaning and bandaging her wound, uzi could see J actually did have a soft spot for someone which was Tessa, it was odd to see J so caring and protective,

J finished and threw away the wrappers, away before sitting close to Tessa, she looked over, to see uzi's confused expression “shut up” she rolled her eyes at uzi “so how did you guys meet uzi?” She asked, N sat up, “apparently she snuck out to find a piece for her gun, and I was gonna kill her until she knocked me offline, we talked and she snuck away when J and V got back so I went to her home to finish the job but I kinda caused an awkward moment with her and her dad” Tessa was confused until Uzi cut N off “he left me for dead.” She groaned, Tessa looked mad and surprised at what uzi's dad did to her “im sorry that happened to you uzi,” N rubs the back of his neck then explained the last parts, and Tessa listen to every word and nodding, silently, “woah that's a lot”
Tessa mutters,

(Time for J and Tessa quality time)
Uzi and V held hands and sat together as they watch the conversation, V was bored so she started messing with Uzi by pulling her beanie over her face “damn it V!” Uzi tries to break free from her grasp, “can't see shit-!”
Tessa chuckled softly, watching their cute banter,
Then she felt a tug on her sleeve, she turned to see J, looking at her with a nervous expression “..can we talk privately..??” She asked quietly, her voice below a whisper, Tessa agreed and followed J out of the main room and into the room Tessa sleeps in, they sat down on the bed as J hugs her knees (robot version I guess) to her chest “you alright J?” Tessa asked, her weight pressed onto the bed as she sat next to J “.. I've…uh.. don't make fun of me..” her tail coils around herself protectively, “I would never.” She promised her sad drone companion, “I've..been having horrible night terrors..in my sleep mode.” She hides her face, murmuring quietly “you wanna talk about what you see in them?” She asked, scooting closer, in response J crawls onto Tessa and buried her face on Tessa's shoulder, her arms around her waist “you..but back at the manor.” She whined, the tail now coiled around both of them, “what?” Tessa asked, she cupped the side of J's face forcing her to look up at her human friend, “it's..like you but.. it's not..” J shivered “tell me.” Tessa said firmly but with a gentle tone, “it was like you were possessed..? With these long tentacles trailing behind you..you had this HUGE..smile on your face and your body was…beaten up..ripped..and had dried blood all over you..” Tessa felt sick at the mental image, if she herself was disturbed hearing about it, she can only imagine how J FEELS about seeing it evey single night that it torments her, “..oh J..” she says sympathetically,

She held her tightly, to somehow tell J that she would never leave her no matter what, she was her robot and she herself was J's human, “if.. only I knew how to help you, you shouldn't be going through that..my poor girl,” she said in a way that wasn't pity but genuine affection and care, “..i-..I feel it must be worse for you Tessa..-.it chose to look like you..but why..” she croaked, “I don't know J, but I promise you are safe, and I am alive and well, see?” She runs her fingers through J’s hair, “whenever you have these dreams, you can come to me and we can talk about it, if not we can just enjoy each other's company, sound good?” She smiled warmly,

J smiled back, feeling much better that she talked to Tessa, her Tessa,
Maybe things wouldn't be so bad after all..
J was comfortable in Tessa's arms so she didn't really wanna move, whenever tessa did she grumbled in protest or huff, “aw come on J, the others are in the living room probably wondering what's taking so long” she chuckled at J's clingy behavior, she didn't mind of course since she was kinda touch starved (me too Tessa) but there was guests,so she scoops up J and takes her along, “sorry we had to have a little chit chat!” Tessa sat back down with them, they all seemed surprised that J was just casually allowing Tessa to carry her around, V wasn't exactly surprised since she knew J had a thing for Tessa

Flash back

“V when do you think Tessa is coming back??” J asked with a worried tone, pacing back and forth in the room, the drones weren't allowed to go with Tessa on a family trip, and it had only been a day “I'm sure she will be back, it's only for three days” V murmured quietly, sitting in the corner “Tessa will return! This is her room after all!” N happily chirped, while Cyn was laying on her stomach, playing with the dolls Tessa no longer liked, “Tessa will return to J, giggle” Cyn hummed,
Though J was still staring at the door, as if staring at it would make Tessa come back faster..
Which J knew was stupid but a drone can dream right?

End of flashback

J calmly stayed still in Tessa's grasp, “if only Uzi was that behaved when I grab her” V joked, “bite me!” N laughed a little since he thought it was funny how Uzi would squirm or say something like ‘put me down!’ or ‘im gonna blast your head with a rail gun!!’ “just put her in air jail” S suggested,

V smirked “good idea” “V I SWEAR TO ROBO JESUS” she was grabbed by V's tail, lifting her up in the air as she squirms around, Tessa watched them calmly while J was nonchalantly calm as well, “they better make out somewhere else” J shrugged “that was so random.” Tessa squeaked
“It's kinda obvious they want to make out” or more but J wasn't gonna traumatize Tessa by asking what she thought,

So she kept it to herself, hours go by

Everyone else left but J, she wanted to be near Tessa in case she had her night terrors again, which Tessa offered anyway so it was okay, “I'll sleep on the couch” J shrugged “well if you change your mind there is plenty of space in my bed” she smiled at J before going in her room and turning off the lights, leaving J alone who got up on the couch and went into sleep mode,

“I borrowed her skin, giggle” is what J heard as she was falling into a dream, “let me in, let me in, let me in, let me in, let me in let me in let me in let me in let me in let me in let me in let me in let me in let me in!!!!!”

She gasped, waking up she quick scurried into Tessa's room, climbing into the bed and under the covers, Tessa yawned tiredly but hugged J, who happily snuggled in, she knew J didn't wanna talk right now so they just laid together in silence until they fell asleep again, and after that..J didn't have any nightmares, she really did feel better in her human’s arms, so she smiled warmly in her sleep, her tail thumping against the bed as it wagged quietly,
