It's been a week since auditions and I still haven't gotten a call back. I'm really starting to doubt that I got it. I mean shouldn't they have already called me by now if I did? Ugh the waiting is driving me crazy!! I need to get out and actually interact with the world, staying in all week isn't healthy for me.
I grabbed my bag and headed for my car. I don't know where I am going but I just have to get out of that house. I drove around for a while until I found a small park and decided to just go on a walk. I parked my car in a little secluded area and started walking towards a little pond in the center of the park. There were ducks everywhere and little kids feeding them bread. Everything was just so peaceful here so I decided I would stay for awhile.
About an hour and a half later I got a call from someone. I answered it and all I heard was breathing coming from the other end. Okay this was creepy. "Hello" I said into the phone but no one replied. After a couple of silent, eerie moments the caller hung up. I just brushed it off as being a fan calling or something but then my phone started to ring again.
"Hello, who is this and why are you calling me?" I asked politely to the caller, but still the only reply was the caller breathing. I waited for them to say something. After what seemed like forever the caller finally replied.
"Soon" was all he said. It was a males voice who called. Soon? Soon what? He hung up right after that. Now I was starting to get chills all over my body, I felt like there was someone watching me. Then my phone rang for the third time, but this time I'm not going to go easy on him. Whoever this is needs to stop prank calling people.
"Look in not in the mood for your petty little games, okay? Stop prank calling me. You're honestly starting to freak me out and if you don't stop I'll be more than happy to call the cops on you. Am I understood?" I said frustrated that I let him get me so freaked out
"Umm Alexis, it's Chase I was just calling you back about the auditions...." He trailed off. Oh my god just what I needed crap I should really wait for someone to speak before yelling at them.
"Omg Chase I'm so sorry that wasn't meant for you. It's just that I've been getting these weird phone calls and they honestly freaked me out a ton. But anyways back to the auditions" I face palmed myself for doing that. I might have just ruined my chances of getting in, great just what I needed now.
"Hey it's fine, I was just calling to inform you that you got in!! If you could swing by sometime tomorrow I can show you the character you'll be playing and you'll get to meet some of the other cast members" he stated with a little chuckle at the end. I let out a deep sigh of relief and a little squeal of joy that I made it in.
"Of course I'll be there around noon tomorrow. Thanks so much for calling me and again I'm really sorry for yelling at you. I didn't expect it to be you" I awkwardly chuckled and he said bye and hung up. Oh thank god that I made it in. Now I only wonder who else I'll be working with. I've worked with many people over the years but I don't think any one I know will be doing this job.
I got up and happily walked back to my car. It was already 4 in the evening so I decided I should go home and get dinner ready since today an old friend would be coming to visit for dinner. It's been a while since I've seen her so it'll be good to catch up together. As I drove into my driveway I noticed that there was something written in chalk on the sidewalk. I got out to check what it was and I nearly jumped out of my skin. There in a really eerie red color was written the word soon.
I basically ran into my house and slammed the door shut. What freaked me out even more was that there were no kids that lived on my street. After taking a few minutes to gather my thoughts. Maybe it was just someone I know trying to freak me out or something. Ugh I'm getting really stressed out because of my lack of sleep. I went into the kitchen to start dinner. I was going to make a chicken salad since it was the easiest thing to make and didn't need that much cooking work. After it was done I got it all set up in the dinner and waited for my guests arrival.
