Ding dong ding dong. I heard the doorbell ring and jolted awake. How on earth did I manage to fall asleep so quickly? I looked at my watch, it was 9:00!!! Who the hell could be at the door this late and why wasn't I in bed?

I stumbled to the door and opened it, rubbing my eyes to see better.

"Hey Alex!!! I'm so so sorry I'm late. There was a traffic jam near my house and I had to take the long way here. The traffic was really slow around the long way" the person at the door blabbed on and on. It took me awhile to realize it was Anna and that I totally forgot that I had made dinner for the both of us.

"Oh hey Anna!!! It's nice to see you again! How have you been?" I questioned her trying not to sound like I had just woken up.

"I've been doing great thanks for asking" she replied. I showed her into the dining room where our food had been set up, only to find that the food was gone.

"Umm I thought you said you made us salad" she said looking confused at the table.

"I did" I responded in a quiet tone. Anna looked at me and then at the table.

"Well your window is open. Maybe a dog or cat or something got in and ate it then left. It's fine we can just order food to eat" Anna suggested. I felt really bad for leaving the window open. If I hadn't fallen asleep then maybe I would have heard what ever it was get in.

While Anna ordered us Chinese food I picked up the plates and put them in the sink. So much for the hard work I put in to it. I walked over to the window to close it when I noticed a paw print on the counter. It looked like a cats paw print. Hmm I guess Anna was right. The only weird thing is cats don't like salad....

I went back into the living room and put on a movie for us to watch. It didn't take long for the delivery
to get here. When I got out my food I nearly dropped it when I read what was on it. Soon. This was getting really creepy. Who is writing me these messages and what's going to happen soon. Anna looked at it and back at me with a questioning face.

"What's the matter? You look like you just saw a ghost." She said staring at me.

"Wh- who could have written th-this" I stuttered. Anna looked at me like I had a chicken on my face.

"Who could have written what?" Anna said. I looked down at the lid of my food and there was nothing there anymore. Dang I think I'm starting to hallucinate.

"Hey Alex are you okay? You don't look to good." Anna said worryingly.

"Yeah I'm fine I'm just really tired." I responded not wanting to freak her out.

"Oh okay well then I can eat this on my way home so you can get some sleep. I'm really sorry for making you stay up late" she said grabbing her stuff and heading towards the door.

"No hey you don't have to go yet." I called following her.

"I don't have to but I'm going to because you little miss need to get more sleep. Have a goodnight and sleep in tomorrow." And with that she was gone. I turned the lights off and changed into my pajamas to go to bed. I had this aching feeling that something was going to happen soon, and I was deathly afraid of what that was....
