Visiting the Nun's Retreat

When I tell this story to people a question I often get is did your family have any cleansing done. By cleansing they mean a Native American saging ritual, exorcism or similar. We did not think about talking to the local Native American tribe but likely should have. There might be stories among the Native Americans that would shed light on the energy in that area. We were all agnostic so there was no particular faith we followed to be able to go to the church leader and ask for help. When we were dealing with all of that we had no time to stop and ask for that kind of assistance. Paranormal investigations were in their infancy so we did not ask for anyone to come and do that sort of investigation. More than all of that we felt guilty asking anyone to get involved in it as everyone that came around, such as friends, wound up with problems themselves after their visit. Particularly if they lived in the area.

There was, at that time, a retreat for Catholic nuns. It was located on the other side of the mountain relative to where we lived. I got the idea to go with my friends and visit the nun retreat and see if we could work with a priest to do an exorcism on the house.

When we got to the nun retreat it was just this large grassy area with a few buildings. There were nuns around on the walking paths at the compound. As we were walking around looking for someone to talk to, the nuns would put their head down and sort of hurry past us. None of the buildings had signs welcoming anyone from the outside. We walked about for tens of minutes before an older nun walked up to us and asked us if we were looking for somebody.

We explained that we weren't looking for anyone but were rather looking for some help with an evil presence where we lived. The nun did not look surprised. She explained that they did not have priests who performed exorcisms on site and that we would need to go through a local parish to request an exorcism. Last she heard there were priests that performed exorcisms in the San Francisco area but she was not aware of any making the three hour journey to perform any exorcisms.
In telling her why we were requesting the exorcism we shared why we were asking and some of the things that went on at that house. She said the occult left things on the grounds at the nun retreat. There would be upside down crosses and other Satanic symbols, mutilated animals and other things left on different parts of the property. So they were well aware of the Satanists in the area.

I felt like asking if I could just stay there. Not super excited to return to our house after being somewhere that felt so peaceful. But I was not ready to become a nun and they weren't open to outside visitors. My parents might have missed me.
Although it was tempting, we never went through the process of requesting an exorcism priest. Primarily because we were not of the Catholic faith and felt guilty only asking for them to help because of our particular situation. They also mentioned travel costs and other expenses and we didn't have the financial means to cover any expenses related to an exorcism. And we were only renting the place and planned to get out of there as soon as we could anyway.
