As Qiao He waited for Cheng Jingchuan outside the dormitory building, she ran into a girl she'd met before—the same one who had helped her deal with that troublemaking senior. The girl, friendly as ever, warmly greeted Qiao He and affectionately called her "little sis."
The girl told Qiao He that Cheng Jingchuan was still in class, gave her the room number, and even offered to lead the way, suggesting that waiting inside would be much better than standing outside in the harsh sun. Not wanting to refuse, Qiao He followed her into the building.
Cheng Jingchuan's classroom was on the third floor, where the hall was quiet, with only the softest murmurs echoing now and then. Curious, as she'd never seen Cheng Jingchuan in his teaching mode, Qiao He set the thermos on a nearby windowsill and crept to the back door of the classroom, peeking inside through the glass.
Sunlight filled the room, highlighting Cheng Jingchuan's figure as he stood at the front in dark trousers and a crisp white shirt, his legs straight, his waist slender. His sleeves were rolled up, revealing a stylish watch, and a subtle ring glinted on his pinky. As she observed him, Qiao He thought, If Z University had a "Most Handsome Lecturer" ranking, he'd probably make the top three.
Though he had a temper and a sharp tongue, his looks... well, they certainly weren't bad.
As the lesson drew to a close, Cheng Jingchuan chatted with the students. One girl complained that physics was too dry, completely devoid of romance.
Standing in the sun, his face touched by a golden glow, Cheng Jingchuan chuckled and replied, "Physics isn't dull; you just haven't truly understood it, haven't fallen in love with it. Physics teaches us to explore—the universe, the earth's core, invisible dark matter, and even the forces that attract objects to each other, which makes us wonder why you might be drawn to me. Isn't that romantic?"
A burst of applause and a few playful whistles followed.
Cheng Jingchuan raised his hand, motioning for quiet, and continued, "In physics, nothing is ever truly still. Change happens in every moment—right now, right this second. So we should cherish it all the more, cherish those we can still hold close. But because everything is in motion, ever-changing, there's no eternal separation either. Even if we break down into atoms or quarks, one day we'll meet again somewhere among the stars. Isn't that romantic?"
The room erupted once more with applause, cheers, and a few students pulled out their phones to snap photos.
One girl in the front row raised her hand, nervously asking, "Sir, are you married?"
With a slight smile, Cheng Jingchuan shook his head. "Not yet."
Another student quickly followed up, "Do you have a girlfriend then? Or someone you like?"
This question intrigued not only the girls in the classroom but Qiao He outside the door as well. Afraid she might miss his answer, she leaned forward slightly—only to realize, too late, that the door wasn't fully closed. With a loud bang, she accidentally pushed the door open and stumbled right into the classroom.

Fifty pairs of eyes, fifty blooming flowers, fifty classmates—all staring at her.

The back of the classroom didn't have any desks, just some cleaning supplies piled up. Qiao He landed face-first with a resounding thud, sprawled on the floor, her entire body aching.
The room erupted in laughter so loud it could practically lift the roof. Qiao He grabbed a stray flyer nearby to cover her face as she awkwardly began to back out of the classroom, muttering, "You don't see me, you don't see me, you see nothing!"
