Chapter 1

Selena stood in front of me, applying the brown eye shadow to my lid. Her face showed concentration as her curly blonde locks fell over her eyes and she swept them away. 

"You look great." She smiles before blowing on my lid to remove any access makeup and then begins applying mascara. Sel is beautiful, she has the most perfect blue eyes and the smoothest skin. Guys go  crazy over her. while Im  known as her "Not as attractive" best friend. 

"Yeah, if I look so great, then why don't I have a date?"I whisper as Sel brushes the light pink lip gloss over my lips, trying to keep them as still as possible through my comment that just had to be made. 

"Ella, guys are morons. Every one knows you aren't easy. You're a good girl, and that scares the shit out of them." She giggles. I know she's just trying to make me feel better. Sel hasn't been with any one besides Liam, and guys still look at her like shes a model, which she may as well be.

"Maybe im too good." I look up at my best friend who's eyes are burning into mine at this point. She knows exactly what Im thinking. How insecure I am over the fact I have never had sex before. Ive hardly even kissed a boy, let alone had sex.

"El, if you're really that concerned over the fact that you're such a goodie goodie, which im not saying is a bad thing, maybe you should come with me tomorrow." Sel has been planning this trip for ages. She's worked it all out, she and her boyfriend Liam, who I literally know not a thing about, are traveling to the East and West coasts as their final summer vacation as high school students. 

"I dont know Sel," I began. "I really wouldn't want to take that trip away from you and Liam." I gave her a smile before glancing at myself in the mirror. I looked different, so different.

"You wouldn't be taking a thing away. I'd love to have my best friend go with me on the trip of a life time." I continued looking over the flawless features Sel had gifted me with for the night. My lashes appeared long, and my cheeks the perfect shade of pink. "Plus, Liam's uncle owns a bus, and were taking it, we'll have plenty of room."

"I'll think about it." I replied , and I meant it, I would really think about it.

"It'll be a good chance to get away from the rentals." She added with a whisper so my parents wouldn't hear. 

My parents. They'll definitely be on my ass if they find out I plan to go on this trip, but a vacation from them sounds nice. Ive always been the girl who studies her ass off. I've never partied, i've never even gone to one of the football games. Its just been me.

After slipping on our dresses and applying a few finishing touches to our hair and makeup, Sel and I glanced at the clock to see it was a quarter past six. So we decided it was time to head out.

As we enter the room, flashing lights greet us as well as up beat music. Girls in way too short dresses and way too high heels dance against each other to the music, the boys staring intently. "Are we at some kind of club?" I shout, leaning as close to Sel as I possibly can.

"God, I wish. It's the disgusting atmosphere of a club without the alcohol." Selena lets out a giggle before grabbing my hands and pulling me to the dance floor.  We mocked the other girls dance moves and swayed to the beat. 

The black, lacy dress Im wearing makes me feel attractive. The material drops  just about mid-thigh and the sleeves go to my elbows. For once, I feel like I fit in with the crowd, although this isn't necessarily the crowd I would want to fit into.

After the song ended, everyone stood around and clapped for the D.J who announces the new song immediately after the applause die down. My heart stops as Sel lets out a loud shriek, and runs over to Liam who has on a nice tux. that matches Sel's dress perfectly. Of course, Sel wouldn't let any kind of fashion errors be made the night of prom.

"Hey Liam." I offer him a smile. Liam really is handsome, and he seems to treat Selena really well.

"Hey, Ella, how have you been? I see Sel got her hands on you." He laughs, referring to the over use of mascara and my colored in eye lids.

"Oh yeah, You know how she is," I begin. "She's got to make everything perfect." 

"You're already perfect." I hear Niall say from behind me, which startles me a bit because I had no idea he was standing there.

"Aw, thanks Niall."I feel myself blush slightly, but I hope i can be hidden by the heavy foundation Selena applied. I wrap my arms around Niall as he gives me a kiss on the cheek. Niall and I have been friends since we were kids, and ever since he has had an obvious crush on me.

While Niall is adorable, I would never want to jeopardize our friendship in that way. My thoughts are interupted by Selena speaking over the loud music.

"Ella may come with us on the trip!" She shouts, throwing a smile and a wink at Niall whose arm is draped over my shoulder just before he places a cup of punch in my hand. 

"Real funny Sel, theres no way," Niall begins but shortly adds an "Are you serious?" after no one responds to his skepticism.

"Yeah," I reply. "I think it may be fun to get out of the house you know, get away from my parents for the first time in 18 years." I laugh a little and he begins to look slightly uncomfortable. 

"It'd be really nice if you went, El." He offers me a smile before Selena and Liam excuse themselves to go dance. Only then do I realize Harry and one of Liam's other football mates were standing behind Liam the whole time.

The other guy is handsome. His dark hair is pushed up in the front and he has a slight hint of a beard growing in. His skin is caramel colored and his eyes are a beautiful deep brown. He offers me a smile before walking off and asking some girl to dance with him. She seems awfully pleased that he asks. 

Harry and I make eye contact for a brief second and before he has a chance to make any snide remarks Niall sighs and finally breaks the awkward silence "Do you want to come take a walk with Louis and I?" . 

"Thank God." I whisper and follow him towards the exit.  With Harry's past of bullying me, I really don't want to take a chance of being alone with him.

I hope you guys like chapter one.(: I still plan to update "Falling Apart, Together" But I really liked the idea for this story and thought I would go ahead and run with the idea. If you guys show a bit of love on the old story as well Ill be sure to upload a new chapter. Dont forget to like and comment on this story.
