(Part 18)
"That was for you, Jesse. Not him." Axel complained as he looked over towards his short friend his uni-brow bent down as he felt himself become more annoyed by the blonde guy.
After a little while Olivia then finished her cookie and she turned over to Lukas and she then asked the same question she asked Jesse earlier. "If you had to... which would you rather fight... a hundred chicken-sized zombies, or ten zombie-sized chickens?"
Lukas then hummed in reply as he scratched his head a little. "That's a good one. Let me think."
"Choose wisely!" Jesse chuckled a little as they finished the last bite of their cookie. Axel then groaned in annoyance and he spoke up."How can you guys joke at a time like this? Petra is still out there. She's all by herself. There's nothing funny about that. Blair is probably going through so much right now!"
Blair was currently sleeping in the corner as she tried to huddled her body together to keep warm as she shivered a little."Petra wouldn't mind at all. She'd want us to keep our spirits up." Jesse responded as their eyes landed on Blair's sleeping form. She was currently oblivious to what was happening right now. Her dreams kept her from leaving her slumber.
"If I were her, I'd... I dunno. It just.. feels wrong." Axel sighed as he looked away from the group as he crossed his arms as he growled a little under his breath.
Lukas then stood up and he stretched his arms a little and he then opened his mouth to speak. "Fine, then. We should get some rest. We gotta start looking for this temple as early as we can. Now, my guess is if we start at the portal and kind of split up -"
Axel then interrupted Lukas with a loud tone which unfortunately woke Blair up. "Whoa, what are you doing?" Lukas then looked at him with a puzzled look and he then tilted his head to the side a little. "Did I do something to you? I'd really like to know, because you keep getting on my case for what seems like no reason."
Blair watched the fight about to happen as she rubbed her eyes a little. 'What.. is going on?' Blair thought to herself as she then sat up a little as she watched the interaction happen between the two."He's just trying to help." Jesse then jumped into the argument as they stood up. They then glanced back at Axel with a small head shake. "See?" Lukas then awnsered as he also glared at Axel. Axel then sighed and he glanced down at Jesse with a small frown. "I'm sorry, Jesse. But, I'm not gonna sit here and listen to this guy telling us what's what."
"I'm just trying to get ready for tomorrow." lukas responded as he tried to defend himself from Axel's insults. "You're the only one wearing that stupid jacket. Don't tell us what to do." Axel then told Lukas. Lukas felt his eyes widen in surprise and rage. 'Why is he like this?!' Lukas thought to himself. He then took some steps forward towards Axel.
"Take. That. Back."
"Can't. Wouldn't."
"You know what? I get to wear this jacket because I know how to build. But that doesn't mean I don't know how to break things." Lukas threatened the giant. Axel rolled his eyes at Lukas's weak threat and he then responded. "Your threats don't scare me, now that we know how you really are."
Lukas then growled a little and he then looked over at Jesse as he crossed his arms. "Jesse... Your friend is way out of line. I wasn't going to bring it up, but I can only take so much." Lukas complained as he hoped Jesse would take his side. 'Axel can't be acting like this! This is so unacceptable!' Lukas thought to himself.
"Let's just drop it."
Axel then looked over towards Jesse with a small frown and he then let go of his crossed arms and he put them to his sides. "Come on. Don't be like that, Jesse."
Jesse then glared at Axel and then Jesse spoke to Axel with a firmer tone. "Just drop it."Axel then ignored Jesse and he then looked back at Lukas. He wasn't done. He needed to show how much he resented him. "Haven't you done enough damage for one day? Petra might be dead because of you. Blair is probably feeling horrible right now!" Axel groaned as he towered over the blonde.
"You're taking this too far, Axel." Olivia then jumped in the fight as she tried to place a hand over his shoulder to make him stop. "I don't have to take this. Listen... Why don't I just leave and let you guys hash this out." Lukas then sighed as he began to reach for the trapdoor to leave.
Olivia then gasped a little as she watched him walk over to the door. "You can't leave. It's dangerous out there."
"I can take care of myself. It's what Axel wants, right?"
"Let him leave if he wants to leave."
Jesse then walked up towards Lukas. They put a hand on his shoulder to make him stop moving. "You're not going anywhere." Jesse commanded Lukas as they had a small tone with worry hinted in their tone. "But Jesse..." Axel then whined. Jesse then looked towards Axel with a small shake of their head. "That's enough. We're all on the same team now. He's staying." Jesse then put their foot down as they crossed their arms across their chest. Lukas then sat down and he looked over towards Olivia. "Zombie-sized chickens. That's what I'd fight."
Olivia then glanced towards Lukas and then asked. "Why's that?"
"'Cause I'm starving."
Then a big crash of white light went through the sky. A big loud thundering boom then echoed through the whole woods and clouds. The group flinched from the loud crash until the rain began to pour on the group. Blair felt her eyes now grow open and she then sighed as she felt the raindrops fall on her face.
"Of course..." Olivia sighed as she held her hand out as she felt the drops of water from the sky pile in her hand. "Rain is better than monsters." Lukas shrugged as he held a hand over his head so rain didn't mess up his hair too badly. He then looked over to Jesse with a thankful smile. "Thanks for keeping me around, Jesse."
Jesse then nodded with a small smile. "Yeah."
