After school ended, Arun marched straight to Siddharth's house, filled with rage and frustration. Without hesitation, he entered Siddharth’s room and, without a word, slapped him hard across the face.

Arun: “What the hell is wrong with you?” His voice was low but fierce. "Nee avala mothama odachita... Ithana naal ah na oruvaati kuda avala ipdi pathadhu illa, naal poora azhudhute irundha theriyuma... En da ipdi pandra, ennanu solliyachu tholaiyen."

Siddharth sat silently on his bed, his face stinging from the slap but not reacting. He knew this was coming, knew he probably deserved it.

Arun: “Answer me!” his frustration grew, and he almost shouted, “I know you love her, Siddharth! Aprm edhuku avala hurt pandra?”

Siddharth’s eyes darted up to meet Arun’s, and for a moment, he looked like he was going to deny it.

Siddharth: “Adhhu...Apdilam illaye.... I don’t... love her,” he said, his voice breaking slightly.

Arun: “Enkitta poi solladha Sid!” he threw his hands up, exasperated. "Love pannama dhan, avala apdi pathiya, illa na avakitta pesumbodhu kovam vandhucha...?"

Siddharth tried to avoid Arun’s piercing gaze, his fists clenched as he tried to keep his emotions in check.

Siddharth: “Arun, it’s... complicated. Nee nenaikura mari easy illa.”

Arun: “Apo ennaku puriya veii!” he said, leaning forward. “What’s stopping you? Why are you pushing her away if you feel so strongly about her?”

Finally, Siddharth’s shoulders sagged, and he looked down, almost defeated.

Siddharth: “Fine,” he muttered. “Maybe I do... have feelings for her. Ana ennaku idhu venam. Idhu romba kashtama.”

Arun took a step back, confused.

Arun: "En da ipdi puriyadha mariye pesitu iruka... Edhachu paithiyam pudichiruka unnaku? Ipdiye pesitu irundhanu vechiko, avlodhan solliten."

Siddharth took a deep breath, and the weight of his reasons seemed to make him heavier.

Sidhharth: “It’s not that simple, Arun. Na en ipdi pandranu sonna neeye na pandradhu serinu soluva."

Arun: "Apdi enna dhan nadandhuchu.."

Siddharth: "Riya oda amma vum athai um pesunadha na kettan.” His voice grew quiet, almost haunted.

Arun: "Ottu kettutu Ivlo scene pottutu irukiya..."

Siddharth: "Deii eruma na solradhu muzhusa kelu..."

He explained everything that happened the other day including why he is hurting Riya.

Siddharth: "Idhudhan nadandhuchu, avanga enna namburanga da. Aana na ipdi nenaikurenu avangaluku therinja, avangaloda nambikaiya odacha mari ayirum..."

Arun’s anger softened slightly, but he was still baffled.

Arun: “You think being honest with Riya is betraying her family’s trust?”

Siddharth nodded.

Siddharth: “What if things don’t work out? What if I hurt her? Or if I end up letting her down? Her mom... she’d never forgive me for it. I can’t bear the thought of her mom looking at me with regret or disappointment. I’d be... breaking the very promise they think I’m keeping.”

Arun shook his head in disbelief.

Arun: "Adhukaga avala vittu vilagi pona sari ayiruma... Avala nee konja konjama odachitu iruka, sid. Seri iru, ipo nee avanga ponna azha vekkuradhu therinja mattum, avanga amma unna pathi nalladha nenaipanganu namburiya... You are still breaking her trust.."
