Siddharth was sitting on his bed, scrolling through his phone aimlessly. His fingers stop when he sees a familiar chat – Anjali. The contact is blocked, but he can still see the chat history. He hesitates for a moment, his heart heavy, before tapping on it.

Siddharth:
  Don’t leave me, Anjali… Please…
  (seen)

Siddharth:
You are my happiness. How  can you just go like that? Pls di pogadha..
  (seen)

Siddharth:
I’ll do anything for you. Just tell me what you need.
  (seen)

Siddharth:
Anjali, I’ll wait for you, no matter how long it takes. Thirumba vandhuru dii..
  (seen)

Siddharth:
  Please… trust me.
  (seen)

Siddharth scrolls through the endless messages – all sent by him. No replies, just the cold, hard truth staring back at him – *seen*, *seen*, *seen*.

He stares at the long string of unanswered messages. His chest tightens, but he can’t stop himself. His fingers swipe up to older conversations—the ones from a time when everything felt right. As he scrolls, the texts shift from heartache to happiness.

WhatsApp Chat Screen (months earlier):

Anjali:
Guess who’s thinking about you right now? 😘

Siddharth:
Hmm… is it my cute girlfriend?

Anjali:
Maybe… What if I said you’re my favorite person in the whole world?

Siddharth:
Then, I'd say I am the luckiest guy in the world.

Anjali:
I miss you! Sid...

                                           Siddharth:
I miss you too, more than you know. Can’t wait to see you tomorrow

Anjali:
Promise me you’ll never leave me, Sid.

      Siddharth:
I promise baby, forever.

Siddharth's thumb hovers over the screen as he re-reads their shared memories. He can almost hear her laughter, feel the warmth of those carefree moments. His chest tightens painfully, his promise echoing in his mind.

He stayed inside Anjali’s chat, debating whether to keep scrolling through the bittersweet memories.

But before he could decide, his phone pinged again. He glanced at the screen and saw Riya’s name flash across the notification bar.

Riya:
Still awake?

His heart gave a small, unexpected jump. The heaviness of Anjali’s messages faded as he opened Riya's chat, his entire mood shifting.

Siddharth:
Yeah, what's up?

Riya replied almost instantly.

Riya:
I figured you'd still be awake, overthinking as usual. 😏

Siddharth leaned back against his headboard, a slight smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. Riya always knew how to break through his brooding.
