It's a quiet night, and Baekhyun was lying in bed, staring at the ceiling. There was a knock at the door that breaks the silence, and his mother enters the room with a smile
"Mind if I come in for a minute?"
"Of course, Mom. What's the matter?"
"You know, it's been a while since I've seen you smile. I just... I wonder if you're happy, sweetheart. Truly happy.I know you have been through a lot but I think you must let it go..."
"I'm fine, Mom. You don't need to worry so much."
I know things haven't been easy. But sometimes, I think maybe... just maybe, you need something or... someone..."
"Mom, if you want to tell me something , just say it."
"Alright, alright. I just wanted to know... have you ever considered about marriage? You know, having someone by your side through it all?"
"Marriage? I... I don't think I'm in the right place for that kind of thing. Not with... everything , that happened?"

"I don't know if I deserve that. After everything... maybe it's better to be alone. Less chance of hurting anyone."
"Everyone deserves happiness, Baekie. Including you. And sometimes, happiness finds us in the most unexpected ways. I just... I want you to think about it. About letting someone in."
"I'll think about it, Mom. But... it feels like a lot."
"That's all I ask. Just keep your heart open to the idea, alright?, no worries , if you are not okay with it , too?".

She gets up, giving him a gentle kiss on the forehead, leaving him alone with her words. As the door closes, Baekhyun lies back down, staring at the ceiling...
"Minjoon... if things had been different, maybe this conversation about marriage wouldn't feel so impossible."
