The following morning, Mac and Gracie awoke to find Bozer in the kitchen. Mac, however, was experiencing abdominal discomfort.

Mac:
"Bozer."

Bozer:
"Ah, just in time, roommates. I am preparing waffles."

Mac:
"You are not obligated to do this daily. I am perfectly fine."

Bozer:
"Are you certain?"

Mac:
"I merely have a stomachache."

Gracie:
"If you intend to decline a complimentary breakfast, I shall gladly accept it."

Bozer:
"Here you are, Gracie. Enjoy."

Gracie:
"Thank you, Bozer."

Bozer:
"Mac, you claim to be alright, but it is evident that you are not. Your girlfriend perished in a car accident during a business trip; you cannot convince me that you are okay, especially considering your pregnancy."

Mac (Voice Over):
"Indeed, my oldest friend remains unaware of our true activities."

Bozer:
"Please, eat your waffles."

In an unexpected turn, Gracie managed to exit the kitchen unnoticed when the discussion regarding Bozer's film concept arose. She consistently devised various excuses to avoid participating in this conversation, often disappearing at such moments, which struck Bozer as peculiar; however, Mac understood the underlying reasons.

Later, Mac and Gracie entered the living room, where they discovered Thornton seated on their couch. She subsequently informed them of an impending threat involving the virus they had lost in Lake Como, indicating that their assistance was once again required.

Mac (Voice Over):
"The Department of External Services, abbreviated as DXS, has a straightforward mandate: to safeguard U.S. interests both domestically and internationally." However, our operational approach distinguishes us from all other intelligence agencies globally, as our existence remains unknown to the public.

Mac, Jack, and Gracie were observed entering a room where Thornton was monitoring the efforts of computer technicians attempting to gain access to Nikki's computer.

Jack:
"It is indeed a pleasure to return. Patti, please bring it in."

He made an attempt to embrace Thornton.

Thornton:
"Director Thornton. Additionally, human resources is still located on the third floor, should you require a reminder."

Jack:
"No, I am... I am adequately informed on that matter."

When the truck arrived with Nikki's laptop, Gracie noticed it and ran away crying.

Mac: Gracie

Jack: what's wrong with her? did I say something wrong?

Mac: no

Thornton: let's give her some space, shall we?

Mac: no, I'll go talk to her

Jack: Mac

Thornton: Jack, let him be, let's focus on the task at hand

Mac found Gracie deeply upset about Nikki's death. Gracie was looking at the necklace that Nikki had given her for her 12th birthday. Gracie heard footsteps behind her and saw her older brother, Mac.

Mac: Hey

Gracie looked at her older brother, visibly upset.

Mac rubbed Gracie's back, assuring her that everything would be okay.
