Rudransh’s Office:

As Rudransh reached his office, he was in a daze. He called his PA, Neil, and asked him to clear his schedule for the day. For the first time in many years, Rudransh wanted a break. He wanted to feel human again, rather than a machine. The constant work had turned him into a hypothetical robot, and now, after the last fifteen days, a fear had developed in his mind. His wife, who always waited for him and was always ready to talk at any moment, had stopped talking. But he held onto one hope—that she still cared for him, even if she wasn’t showing it in words. He knew that Aarohi could read him like an open book, understanding his feelings and needs without him having to voice them.

After talking to Neil about clearing his schedule, Rudransh rested his head on the back of his chair and closed his eyes. Memories flooded his mind—his wedding, the early days of their marriage, the birth of their triplets, their first words, their first steps, and all the milestones of the past twelve years. He couldn’t help but remember how Aarohi had shared her pregnancy news with him.

Flashback:

Rudransh was coming home from the office late at night. Aarohi was waiting for him, eager to share the news but also incredibly nervous. She paced around the room, drinking jug after jug of water to calm herself, but nothing seemed to work. When Rudransh finally walked into the room, he saw her pacing, lost in her own world.

Aarohi suddenly bumped into Rudransh’s chest due to their height difference. Coming back to her senses, she looked up at him with a frown and blinking eyes. Rudransh’s heart softened at her cute expression. He had always secretly admired her eyes, the most beautiful feature on her face, and now her blinking eyes were making it hard for him to control his emotions.

“Aap fresh ho jaye, mein khana lagati hoon,” Aarohi said nervously before running out of the room, leaving Rudransh bewildered.

Rudransh was confused and frowned at her sudden change in demeanor. He suspected something was on her mind. Nevertheless, he went to the washroom to freshen up and change into his night suit. When he came out, he saw Aarohi pacing again.

Hearing the door close, Aarohi turned towards Rudransh, who was standing there with a frown. “Din… Dinner… laga do?” Aarohi asked, stuttering. Rudransh nodded, still confused about why she was so nervous.

After dinner, which passed in silence, Rudransh moved towards the bed. Aarohi took a deep breath and looked at him. He was half-lying on the bed, scrolling through his phone with his left hand. Aarohi stood up, went to the other side of the bed, and sat near him. Seeing her expression, Rudransh put his phone down, sensing that she was about to say something important.

Taking a deep breath, Aarohi took his hand in hers and started rubbing it gently. She placed his hand on her stomach and said, “Rudransh ji, I’m pregnant.”

“It’s ok…” Rudransh began to say his usual line, but Aarohi’s words struck him deeply. He sat up straight, making Aarohi worry that he might sprain his back.

“Yo… You… You are what?” Rudransh asked, not believing what he had heard. He looked at his hand, still on her stomach, then back at her, asking her to repeat the words.

“I’m pregnant. We are going to have a baby,” Aarohi said again, a little louder. She soon felt a rubbing sensation on her stomach as Rudransh placed his palm there repeatedly, trying to grasp the reality of the situation. Tears welled up in his eyes, and Aarohi could read the emotions in them. He was shocked, surprised, and happy, but most importantly, she saw a feeling she had longed for in their years of marriage—love. Rudransh never expressed his feelings through words, but Aarohi could always read them.
