Beatrice Zane, better known as Bee to her friends, had a reputation for being relentlessly cheerful. Those who knew her best couldn't recall a single time they had seen her without that bright, infectious smile on her face. With her naturally sunny disposition and undeniable talent, you'd think she would have been one of the shining stars of the Glee Club. But in reality, Bee often found herself pushed to the sidelines.

That was largely thanks to Rachel Berry. Their rivalry had begun years ago, back in elementary school, when Bee auditioned for a local production of Annie and landed the lead role—beating Rachel out by a narrow margin. Since that day, Rachel had harbored a simmering grudge, convinced that Bee had stolen the spotlight that should have been hers. While Rachel thrived on competition and the idea of being the best, her rivalry with Bee was completely one-sided. For her part, Bee never seemed to take the tension to heart. She went about her days with her usual optimism, refusing to let Rachel's icy glares or passive-aggressive remarks dim her light.

Despite the animosity from Rachel, Bee remained steadfast in her positivity. She believed in karma—good things came to those who worked hard and stayed true to themselves. She threw herself into rehearsals, solos, and dance practices, quietly proving her talent with every high note she hit and every dance step she mastered. In Bee's mind, it wasn't about competition; it was about passion.

Her dreams were bigger than just the high school stage. Bee had long set her sights on the bright lights of Broadway. It was a dream that her family not only supported but fully invested in. Her mom, a single parent, had sacrificed countless weekends to drive her to vocal lessons and rehearsals, while her older sister, Luna, took over as chauffeur whenever their mother was busy working her double shifts. For Bee, making it to New York City felt like a shared mission—a way to give back to the family who had given so much to her.
