"Why'd you kick him out, Gramps!?"

"Couldn't you just send him to his room or something?!"

Both natsu and (Y/N) are infront of the old man. Fists raised in disbelief as they shouted.

Gramps just crosses his arms as the two obnoxious slayers shout.

"I thought he was part of our family!"

"We all know he's a jerk but come on!"

Erza breaks into the shouting duo.

"That is quite enough."

Natsu groans as he clenches his fists. (Y/n) frowns as she folds her arms looking away. Natsu then bursts.

"But now that he's gone I may never get the chance to fight him again, Gramps!"

Gramps remains silent. It for sure wasn't easy on the old man to do such a thing.

"I just know I'd be strong enough to beat him next time!"

Erza places her armored hand on Natsu's shoulder. Silencing him.

"I said enough! Imagine how the master must be feeling right now. Do you think he expelled Laxus because he wanted to?"

"No, but-"

Happy appears on Natsu's shoulder while Nami jumps into (Y/n)'s arms.

"I still can't believe he ended up being a dragon slayer like you guys!"

Gramps finally decides to speak up, still with unopened eyes he reveals the truth of Laxus's dragon slayer magic.

"No, Laxus was never a real dragon slayer..."

Gasps ring out as (Y/n) perks up. And here she thought he was taught it. Master says that Laxus had always been a frail and sickly little boy. So his father, Ivan, had a lacrima implanted into his body. Which gave him the ability to use dragon slayer magic. What kind of parent would do that?

"I'm sorry." Gramps finishes off the story.

"Wow, I didn't even know that existed," Happy speaks. "Dragon Slayer Lacrima?"

This causes (Y/N) and Natsu to sigh out in thought.

To atone for the trouble his grandson caused us, master said he would relinquish his title as head of the guild. We tried really hard to talk him out of it.

"Master, please do not compound the pain of Laxus' punishment. It would break his heart even further if you were to resign."

"Eh..mm."

Freed cut his hair to show his repentance. He's so old fashioned. But with that gesture and those few words, he talked master into staying. And he wasn't the only one in the Thunder Legion who started to open up to the rest of the guild after what went down.
