(A/N: YES IK ITS TWILIGHT BUT FOR THE SAKE OF THIS ITS NOT)
The Forbidden Forest lay before them, a shadowed realm full of whispered mysteries and hidden dangers. Few students dared to wander its depths, but Cedric Diggory wasn't one to be easily deterred. When Y/N had mentioned their curiosity about the forest's magical creatures, Cedric had practically insisted they go together, promising an adventure unlike any other.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, the two of them stood at the edge of the forest, their hearts racing with anticipation. Y/N glanced at Cedric, feeling both excitement and a slight unease bubbling within them.
"Are you sure about this?" Y/N asked, looking at the dark, twisting paths that disappeared into the trees.
Cedric's eyes sparkled with excitement, and he gave them a reassuring smile. "Absolutely. I'd never let anything happen to you."
His tone was calm and confident, and somehow, in that moment, Y/N felt completely at ease. With Cedric by their side, they felt a strange, exhilarating courage, like they were ready to face whatever mysteries the forest held.
The first steps into the forest were quiet, the only sounds being the rustling of leaves and the soft crunch of twigs underfoot. Y/N's nerves began to settle as they took in the sights around them—the towering trees, the moss-covered stones, the way the last rays of sunlight filtered through the canopy, casting dappled shadows on the forest floor.
They hadn't been walking long when they spotted their first magical creature—a Bowtruckle clinging to a nearby tree, its tiny twig-like body blending seamlessly with the bark. Cedric pointed it out with a delighted grin, nudging Y/N as he whispered, "Look at that. It's amazing, isn't it?"
Y/N smiled, feeling their excitement grow as they watched the Bowtruckle scurry up the tree, its tiny fingers clutching a twig. "I didn't think we'd see one so soon. This is incredible."
Cedric's laughter was soft and warm, filling the space between them as they continued deeper into the forest, their footsteps light as they scanned their surroundings for more magical wonders. As they walked, Cedric occasionally shared facts about the creatures they might encounter, his voice filled with enthusiasm and knowledge.
"Have you ever seen Thestrals?" Cedric asked, glancing at Y/N with a look of quiet curiosity.
Y/N shook their head, feeling a thrill of anticipation. "No. I've only read about them."
Cedric's grip on their hand tightened slightly as he led them toward a small clearing. "They usually gather here around dusk. If we're lucky, we might see a few."
As they entered the clearing, the sky was painted in hues of orange and purple, the sun sinking lower on the horizon. Y/N's breath caught as they spotted a group of Thestrals grazing near the edge of the clearing, their skeletal forms almost ethereal in the fading light.
"They're...beautiful," Y/N whispered, captivated by the creatures before them.
Cedric nodded, his gaze fixed on the Thestrals, his eyes filled with quiet reverence. "They are. Not everyone can see them, though."
Y/N glanced at him, noticing the way his face softened as he spoke. There was something about Cedric's gentleness, his respect for every creature, that made Y/N's heart swell with admiration. They felt lucky, standing there beside him, sharing this moment that felt so raw, so real.
They were about to thank him when a sudden rustling sound echoed from the trees behind them. Both of them froze, their senses heightened as they turned to face the source of the noise. Y/N felt a surge of fear, but Cedric's hand remained steady in theirs, grounding them, reminding them that they weren't alone.
Out of the shadows emerged a hippogriff, its massive wings partially unfurled, its golden eyes fixed on the two of them with a sharp, assessing gaze. The creature's feathers ruffled slightly as it let out a low, powerful huff.
"Stay calm," Cedric whispered, his voice barely audible. "Let's bow and show our respect. Just follow my lead."
Y/N's heart raced, but they trusted Cedric implicitly. They mimicked his slow, respectful bow, keeping their gaze on the hippogriff as they lowered their heads. The creature watched them for a long, tense moment before it dipped its head in response, signaling its acceptance.
Y/N's pulse began to settle as Cedric gave them a reassuring smile, his face glowing with pride. "See? We're a good team."
Y/N couldn't help but laugh softly, feeling a rush of exhilaration as they reached out to gently stroke the hippogriff's feathers. The creature's plumage was smooth and warm under their fingertips, a reminder of the power and grace that filled the forest.
As they left the clearing, Cedric's hand found Y/N's once more, their fingers intertwining in a gesture that felt as natural as breathing. They walked in silence for a while, the sounds of the forest filling the space between them, but Y/N's mind was racing with everything they wanted to say, everything they had been feeling.
When they reached a small glade, Cedric stopped, his expression softening as he turned to face them. "I...I'm glad you came with me today, Y/N. There's something about sharing this with you that makes everything feel right."
Y/N's heart swelled, a warmth spreading through their chest as they met his gaze. Cedric's eyes held a mixture of kindness, strength, and something deeper, something Y/N had been sensing for a while but had never put into words.
"You make everything feel like an adventure," Y/N replied, their voice filled with sincerity. "Like every moment with you is something I'll remember forever."
Cedric's expression softened even further, and he took a step closer, his hand gently cupping Y/N's cheek. "Being with you feels...different. Like I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be."
Y/N's breath caught as Cedric leaned in, his lips brushing gently against theirs in a kiss that was soft, warm, and filled with all the emotions they had both been holding back. The world around them seemed to fade away, leaving only the two of them and the warmth of each other's presence.
When they finally pulled apart, Cedric's cheeks were flushed, but his smile was radiant. "Thank you for today," he murmured, his voice filled with emotion. "For being here. For being you."
Y/N smiled, their heart feeling impossibly full. "Thank you, Cedric. For this adventure, and for being... everything I didn't know I was looking for."
As they made their way back to the castle, hand in hand, the thrill of the adventure still buzzing through them, Y/N knew that this was only the beginning of something wonderful. With Cedric by their side, they felt ready for anything that might come their way, knowing that together, they could face whatever the world had to offer.
