(Chloe's pov)

The time on the alarm clock read 2:19pm. I can't be late to the café. Claudia almost combusted from excitement when she told me that 'someone special' was back in town. She wouldn't tell me who, though, only that their name began with the letter R. The only special person with the letter R that could be back in town is Rowan, but he left like five years ago, and it's not like we kept in touch. She practically forced me to dress 'nicely'. What does that even mean? I dress nicely. There is nothing wrong with leggings and jumpers. She has me wearing a dress, a blue one with bell sleeves and a V neckline. I have to admit it is really quite cute. She says it 'let's me shine and not the dress', personally, I think she's talking out of her arse, but whatever helps her sleep at night. She insisted she do my makeup, too. I made her promise not to do too much, though my pores are already clogged enough without the added layers. She finally finished my mascara and shoved me out the door, rambling on about how I'm going to freak when I saw who it was. I hope I haven't done too much. It's only a simple dress and some small heels, but if it is who I think it is, then I don't want him to think I have completely changed. Has Claudia told Rowan that I'm gay? That's gonna be a fun conversation. Fuck what if he thinks I'm a weirdo. What if he hates me. He was like a brother to me. I can't deal with this. Maybe I should just go back to Claudia and arrange a group hangout? But she seemed really insistent on this being only a two person thing. I'm too close to the café to turn back now. It's literally round the corner. I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and push open the door to the café.

I look around, trying to spot someone that has the same hairdo or the same dress sense as Rowan from all those years ago, just something that will tell me he is here. I must have arrived first. God dammit. I find a booth in the far corner, still in perfect view of the door, and order a mango and strawberry refresher. I'm not the biggest fan of coffee, so I thought getting something fruity would be best. Now all I have to do is wait. My phone buzzed once, then twice, and a notification popped up. Alex. Fuck my life. When will this boy get the hint that
1. I am not interested.
2. I am very, very gay

I opened the snap, hoping it wasn't another mirror gym selfie. He acts like he has muscles.

The boy isn't even filling out his socks yet, let alone his sleeves.

Thankfully, it isn't another selfie, but instead a massive paragraph on how he will always be waiting for me. I call bollocks, the bot has anew girlfriend every 2 weeks, he can't be saying nothing. I feel my eyes roll into my head as I set my phone down, glancing up as the chime atop the door rings out. It isn't Rowan. I sink back into the chair, letting the leather swallow me partly as I scroll on insta. The door chimes again, and I don't bother to look up until I see a freshly ironed pair of dress slacks at the end of my booth. I look up, slightly puzzled as to what this stranger would want from me. I feel the air leave my lungs when I look up and see the face of a godess.

Fuck she's hot.
