Contact Names And Why

Steve
Yours for him: Cap<3
You wanted to go simple, because you're not really into the weird contact names with lots of emojis and such. You picked up Cap from Tony, and after all, it is kind of a cute name. Plus, you forced Tony to quit calling Steve that, so now it's a you-and-him thing.

His for you: Y/N
All it said in the new contact thing was 'first name', so that's what he put in.

Bucky
Yours for him: Buck
Bucky only allows the two people closest to him to shorten his already short nickname: you and Steve. It was short and sweet, and also hints at some dirtier things...

His for you: Love
Even though you sometimes forget it, Bucky is old-fashioned, since he's from 1940. Underneath all the danger is a sweetheart, and he thought his contact for you ("why do I even need this cellular device?") should reflect how he refers to you in real life.

Tony
Yours for him: Pretty Boy
Tony's ridiculous, but he is gorgeous. Hence, the name. It does sort of heavily imply that he's stupid, but that was your first impression of him. Plus, he still argues with you. Stupid.

His for you: She's Right
He'd long since learned that you always win arguments, and thought the reminder might be helpful. It doesn't really help, since he still persists. It's also a sort of play on Mrs. Right.

Thor
Yours for him: Barbie
Have you seen the hair?

His for you: My Fair Maiden
Once you'd explained that the thing he wrote there would be what he'd see every time you contacted each other, he'd immediately put it in, his massive hands fumbling with the tiny phone. You'd laughed at first, but he was dead serious about it.

Loki
Yours for him: The Trickster
He is the trickster god, is he not? Besides, it's kind of cute, and keeps most people from knowing who you're texting and calling.

His for you: The Trickstess
He thought your contact names should match, and you shook your head, chuckling. He maintained it, though, and gradually you've come to like it.

Bruce
Yours for him: Banner Boy
Yes, it's a stupid pun. But you live for those, and after all, it made him laugh, which you love.

His for you: My Girl
Even though you continue to say "I'm a strong independent woman who belongs to nobody", he's kept the name. It's kind of sweet, really.

Clint
Yours for him: Archer Boy
It was the first (albeit terrible) thing you called him. And he is obsessed. And excellent. Ugh.

His for you: Gun Girl
An equally as terrible name, but when you met him, you were shooting a gun, and he was holding a bow. So you match. Sort of.

Natasha
Yours for her: Nat
Short and sweet. You could've gone with Tasha, but it doesn't suit her anywhere near as well.

Hers for you: Fighter
Nat'a constantly in fear of her phone being monitered, despite (maybe because of-you never know what Tony'll do) the precautions Tony has set up on every member's phone. So she wanted to maintain anonymity. She also called you this the day you met, and it's held true since.

Pietro
Yours for him: Beep Beep
It's a reference to Roadrunner from the old cartoon. Like him, Pietro is fast and sarcastic. You love it. Also, Roadrunner and Wil. E. Coyote were on your shirt the day you met.

His for you: Wil. E.
You refused to allow him to put Coyote on there-what kind of animal does he take you for? Still, your contacts match, and you do seem to always be trying to catch up with him.

Wanda
Yours for her: Witchy-Poo
You have never allowed her to see what you named her. She'd either go ballistic or crack up, and you'd rather not know which.

Hers for you: Sweetheart
It's cute, and you are one, most of the time at least. She hasn't let you see it, either, fearing you'll tease her for revealing real sentiment.

Yeah, I'm not entirely satisfied with this chapter. Oh well. It's cute, and accurate, I think.

Should I make the preferences connect? Well, I mean, I already have, with all the references in here to when you first met. But should I not do that?

I'm kinda upset that this isn't gathering more attention. Then again, I have only one (two) chapters up.

Still. That first chapter? Easily the best and longest thing I've ever written at one time.

Phew. I'm exhausted. Don't expect any more one-a-day stuff, alright? I don't want you go be disappointed. I love you guys.
