Holding the familiar looking vial in her hand, the words on the label echoed in her mind as she said it aloud to herself. "Drink me.. This has to be a trick." Alice looks around to see who could have placed it. There was nothing out of the ordinary. Everyone in the cafe was just enjoying their time here. She set the vial down. "This is just crazy. No one here knows about that. I'm not going to drink it."
At that moment a figure sits across from her. A woman about her age with a short grey bob haircut, she wore a black shirt and a purple tshirt. "You really aren't going to drink it?"
Alice looked at her. "Oh are you John's sister? It's nice to meet you."
"I'm not who you're looking for. Alice, you don't want to lose yourself again right? Is that why you don't want to drink it? You just want to forget about Wonderland?" She answered.
Hearing what the woman said, Alice looked confused. How did this woman know about Wonderland. she looked around frantically was anyone hearing this. It was at that moment she saw or well didn't see was people moving. Was time frozen? "Who are you? How do you know about that? I'm not going to drink it. In Wonderland anything could happen.. Wonderland is the past. What's going on? Why is no one moving."
The woman picked up the vial. "Call me Raven. Alice, don't you want to return. See your friends the rabbit and the hatter? You might say it is the past but you still have a small part that wants to return. I'm giving you that option. As for the humans here. They are only momentarily paused. It's easier to speak about Wonderland now without any prying eyes or ears." Return to Wonderland? Was that really an option? She did miss her friends but she has a life here. She was meeting up with her boyfriend. Alice was going to say something but Raven spoke again. "What if I told you if you come back, you can save your friends. There is trouble in Wonderland."
Alice frowned. "They are in trouble...what's going on? Is it the Queen of Hearts? "
Raven shook her head. "No but if you want to find out you can drink it and I'll take you to Wonderland. Otherwise your friends will be in trouble. They could be captured or killed or who knows what else. The cat could be turned into a dog instead." Raven laughed. "Imagine that, a Cheshire Dog. "
"But I'm suppose to meet someone here? " Alice said.
"Don't worry about that. I will have you back before anyone realizes. So what do you say. Will you come back to Wonderland?" She asked handing the vial back to Alice.
Alice turned the vial in her hand. The liquid gave off a slight sheen in the light. "Alright. " she popped the lid off and drank the liquid in the vial. It tasted sour. As the seconds pass, the cafe seemed to melt away. The whole place becoming dark and she soon felt a familiar feeling of falling.
Falling down down down.
Tables and chairs soon floated up past her and she fell. Raven was no where in sight. Alice looked around as she kept falling. Bubbles soon came around her, tiny at first before gradually getting bigger. It was only a matter of seconds before a large bubble touched her shoes and she fell into it.
"This is strange.." Alice said as the bubble then changed direction, instead of going up with the other bubbles, it continued going down like how she was falling. This falling was slower than how she was originally going and it seemed like it was going forever.
When suddenly the bubble popped.
The falling void she was in was gone, in its place a lush forest and at her feet was a river. She looked down at the river and saw her reflection. She was back in a familiar outfit. A light blue and white dress. Her hair was tied back with a black ribbon with a matching pair of black dress shoes.
"Hmm that outfit suits you Alice." Raven said walking over. Raven was back in her wonderland attire. The long black dress and cloak. She adjusted the feather clasp and smiled. "Follow me and I will tell you what's going on now."
