Moving in wasn't quite what Jasmine expected. Moving to a completely different home was the last thing that she needed. But, to please her mother, since she had a very strong heart for her mother, she did move.
But someone else wanted to tag along for her sweet young sister to be safe and away from harm. Aaliyah. Aaliyah was the one who suggested that they move. They were both adults now—though, Aaliyah was 31 and Jasmine was just now turning 20. What a good big sister!
"Aaliyah," Jasmine groaned, rubbing her face against her hands in frustration. "It's not even two seconds of settling in, and you're making friends with everyone around here.."
Aaliyah placed a box down. "So??? Why can't I?" She says, placing a hand on her hip. "You need at least one friend here. You barely had any back in Beaver County!" Aaliyah giggled, walking up to Jasmine and giving her a huge squeeze. "Besides, I think you might want to be friends with a certain someone."
"Like who?" Jasmine asked.
"Like someone who has the same interests as you!" Aaliyah replied, giving a much wider smile showing her shiny white teeth. "She likes your little anime cartoons," Aaliyah said.
"You sound so much like mom.." Jasmine replied, a soft sigh coming out from her lips. "Well, what is her name?"
"Like— Mariyuh or something? I don't know. I forgot it so quickly due to these fatass boxes!" Aaliyah said with a loud laugh. "That reminds me we still gotta unpack girl!" Aaliyah kissed Jasmine on the cheek, before walking back outside to the truck.
"Mariyuh?" Jasmine muttered quietly to herself. Her eyebrow was slightly cocked as a reaction. "That name sounds familiar." But she didn't care to remember the name anyway. She just wanted to meet her so Aaliyah could get off her back.

"Finally!" Aaliyah flopped her tired body on the couch. She stretched her arms and legs out, each of her limbs popping with relief from carrying all of those boxes back into the house. "Hey, Jas, you met her yet?"
"No, I need to work." Jasmine dryly responds. Aaliyah groaned rolling her eyes.
"Jas, jassss! Put the computer away and just be free for a moment!" Aaliyah whined, getting up from the crouch, and lazily walked over to the kitchen. She looked at Jasmine who was completely focused on her computer. "Jas," Aaliyah cooed, placing her hand on the backside of her computer. "Jasssss," she continued. She began to slowly to close Jasmine's laptop. Jasmine groaned loudly.
"Fine, fine!" Jasmine slammed her computer, getting up from her seat with her arms crossed. "We're only talking for seven minutes straight." Jasmine says as she walked towards the door with slow footsteps.
"Yayyy!" Aaliyah clapped her hand, slightly jumping with pure excitement.
"How far does she live?" Jasmine asked, grabbing her red hoodie from the hook.
"She lives next door!" Next door was Jasmine's relief. She really did not wanna walk 15 blocks away just to meet someone that her older sister was forcing her to meet.
"Come on," Aaliyah held her sister's hand, "she's already waiting outside." She giggled. She opened the door and began to walk with Jasmine trailing behind her.
"Already waiting outside..." Jasmine glanced over to her left. "Oh, you were right." Jasmine muttered. 'She's pretty...' Jasmine thought, her gaze locked on Mariyuh. 'She kinda looks like...'
