Few years down the road I had kids. I named them Lucy and Jack.Great kids. Loving husband. What could possibly go wrong?
Oh I know, when your child turned 13 and thinks they know everything. That's what.
Lucy had a mouth on her. Me oh my, she wanted to go out with a few friends. I told her no since I didn't know any of their parents and she threw a fit throwing her arms up stomping to her room and slamming the door.
I just rubbed my temples.
I eventually brought her a bowl of ice cream and we were fine.
We had a pillow fight, karaoke, and danced to make up for the night she couldn't go out with her friends.
It was fun. Kai and Jack eventually joined. We had a blast, and then we all got on the roof and watched the stars and moon.
"One day I'll walk on the moon." Jacks said. His 8 year old self holding a look of determination.
"I don't doubt it a bit, Jack. I will be watching you on tv." I said with a smile.
"Me as well, and so will your sister." Kai spoke and smiled.
I loved his smile. And smell. And voice. And eyes. And well... everything about him.
Suddenly I heard a loud beep. Like a smoke alarm? But it was one beep. Just one loud beep. I wanted it to stop.
"Do you guys hear that?" I asked.
"Hear what mom?" Lucy looked confused.
"Nothing. Never mind."
And then it all went black.
