The Great Hall was buzzing with morning energy as students drifted in, filling every corner with laughter, the clinking of silverware, and the comforting rustle of conversation. Y/N and Hermione had claimed their spot at the Gryffindor table early, slipping into their morning routine of tea, toast, and shared secrets. The enchanted ceiling was a soft, pale blue, mirroring the clear autumn sky outside, while the sun poured through the tall windows, casting a warm glow over the hall.

After a moment, Hermione set down her goblet, her eyes glinting with mischief. "So, Y/N," she began, leaning closer, "Your in love with Harry?"

Y/N groaned, letting her fork drop to her plate. "Hermione, don't start," she sighed, though a slight blush crept into her cheeks. "Why are you so interested in my nonexistent love life?"

Hermione's face lit up with excitement. "Because it's not nonexistent! You think I haven't noticed the way he looks at you? And the way you look at him?" She clasped her hands together in delight. "It's adorable!"

Hermione scoffed, crossing her arms. "Besides haven't you looked around! Half the boys in Hogwarts are practically tripping over themselves whenever you walk by. You could have any one of them if you wanted, Y/N. They're smitten-completely hopeless. You'd just have to pick."

YIN laughed, shaking her head. "You're exaggerating, Hermione."

"I'm really not," Hermione insisted, a hint of envy coloring her tone. "Sometimes I wish I looked half as lovely as you. You barely have to try, and everyone just... notices."

Y/N's eyes softened as she turned to Hermione, nudging her shoulder gently. "Oh, Hermione, don't be ridiculous. You're just as pretty as me, probably more. Besides, you've got that whole smart, mysterious thing going on.
Honestly, it's just as charming. It's not just about looks; people are drawn to you too, you know."

Hermione flushed slightly, looking pleased but still unconvinced. "Well, I'm not sure about that, but... thank you." She gave a shy smile before continuing, her curiosity clearly not yet satisfied. "Anyway, come on-don't change the subject. When did you realize you started having feelings for Harry? Was it something he said? Or maybe..." She leaned in, grinning like she was unearthing a treasured secret.

"Enough about me," Y/N said, a sly smile forming on her lips as she turned the tables. "What about you and Ron?"

Hermione's confident demeanor faltered instantly, and her cheeks flushed a deep red. "W-What about Ron?" she stammered, looking down at her plate.

Y/N smirked, her eyes dancing with amusement. "Oh, come on, don't play coy. You're practically as red as the jam on your toast. Admit it, Hermione-you like him."

"Like Ron! That's ridiculous!" Hermione scoffed, but her flustered tone betrayed her."Why would I like him? He's so-"

"Charming, funny, the love of your life?" Y/N teased, putting on a dramatic, sing-song voice. "Oh, Hermione, you just want to kiss him right on those adorable freckled cheeks!"

Hermione buried her face in her hands, laughing but mortified. "Y/N, stop it!" she whispered, sneaking a glance across the hall to see if Ron had noticed.

"Alright, alright, I'll let you off the hook," Y/N said, grinning as she nudged Hermione with her shoulder. "But admit it-you like him, at least a little bit."

Hermione mumbled something incomprehensible rolling her eyes, trying to hide a smile. "Maybe... a tiny bit," she mumbled, glancing at Ron from across the hall. "But he's infuriating sometimes."

Y/N chuckled. "And yet, you still think he's adorable."

"Y/N, stop it! I didn't say that you did!" Hermione whispered, covering her face as if it could hide her embarrassment. "Either way my crush for him it—it's nothing serious."
