In the middle of the woods there is small campfire burning."You know, I never understood why'd you guys ever started showing up to me" Luke proclaims to a bundle of spirits appearing to him as a ball of light. "I know it's been a while since you guys first appeared... I think at least if I recall correctly, it's been around 10 years now. -sigh- I hate trying to remember things!" Luke falls backwards on a tree leaning his head back as in distress. The spirits seemed to find him falling backwards funny so, they chuckled. "Oh you find that funny? I didn't know you guys had a sense of humor."
Despite being around spirits for the past 10 years, Luke has never actually spoken with them until recently. The reason for this is due to trauma induced on him when he was younger leaving him mute only up until his recent teenage years. This trauma can be tracked back to when the spirits first appeared. -Luke stares up at the stars- "I was 13 I believe, when I was taken from the Bad Lands over to an unknown piece of land where Dragons are known to live. At least that's what all the books at the time thought. I was sent alongside a group of criminals, I was one of them, charged with theft. The Dragons were known as primordial Gods able to cleanse the human soul of sin after consumption. As punishment for the crimes we committed we were sent here." -Luke pauses-.
"Of course the main problem was crossing the sea to get here. We were only sent on small floating raft! Those fucking monarchs had no clue where they were sending us to. Sea sickness made a lot of the prisoners into a pile of mess full of puked out innards and blood while the ones who survived had to endure seeing all of that happen." -Luke shakes his body as if trying to not remember that moment-. "Eventually after getting past the rough waters we landed in a cold, highly dense forest. The very moment we step foot on land, we were attacked by a colossal bear.
I thought I was dead." -Luke continues-"And then out of no where there was a bright light causing the bear to run away. I was left alone that night in the bare cold only for that light to re appear warming me up." -Luke starts to prepare for bed by putting out his campfire- "I thank you guys for that.. anyways, I think I should get some sleep, I've got a big day tomorrow."
Within these words shared between man and spirit, there seems to be a deeper meaning that comes from these type of bonds. In this world magic is known to be gifts from Gods, spirits are known to possess magic from Gods, but aren't known to be wielded as a weapon. Therefore only a small portion of spirits decide on influencing the non spiritual realms by presenting themselves within human society. The spirits around Luke seem to be attached to the warm vibrant aura he pulsates leading to a more fiery abundance of spirits.
