JOANNE'S POV:

Me and Ally are cuddled up into each other trying to stay warm. She's been asleep for a while now, but I can't seem to fall asleep. Something is telling me to stay awake but I don't know why. To entertain myself I brush Ally's wavy red hair, passing the strands between my fingers while my gaze falls to her face. Her face full of freckles looks so peaceful, her soft features make her look like an angel and when not sleeping her eyes are windows to the ocean. She's shy and sweet but life has made her quiet and insecure.

No one would guess we are twins because of our appearances. While Ally's has beautiful wavy long red hair, mine's long, straight and blonde, she has blue eyes and mine are green, but both of us look younger than we actually are. And our personalities couldn't be more different: Ally's shy, sweet, insecure and good listener, she also has the talent of writing. Her style is more vintage and kind of a horse girl. while I'm more of a talkative person, I'm sweet but not that much affectionate towards people, funny but I find it kind of difficult to trust people. My style is more undefined, I like girly girl clothes but also tomboy ones, guess I just wear what i fancy that day.

I'm snapped out of my trance when I feel little droplets of water on my face. "Great" I mutter under my breath, "It isn't cold enough that rain has to join the party?" I think. It wasn't raining that much but if I don't move us quickly to shelter we can end up freezing to death. I pick Ally up, trying not to wake her, while with the other hand I try to pick up our tiny backpacks. My eyes wander through the dark alleyway trying to find the hole on the wall from an old and abandoned building, I finally locate it and start walking towards it.

I place Ally inside first, then the backpacks and I go in last.

My arms search for Ally's body and wrap themselves around it in a protective way. My cheek rests on top of her head.

I'm almost out when I hear steps and the sound of glass bottles clinking, they are getting closer. I shake Ally awake and motion her to be quiet, she nods her head. My heart beats in my ears, my breath is shallow and quick. A hand grips my ankle and pulls me out, the rain falls onto me my eyes look up to find a dark shadow tall enough to be a man in his late thirties and by the looks of it he's drunk.

"Look what we have here, a beautiful blonde princess. This is no place for such a beautiful girl" He says slurring his words. I'm terrified, my body starts to tremble. I try to break free, but his grip is too strong.

"Uh, uh you're not going anywhere" He kneels down and touches my face with one of his greasy and rough fingers. I turn my head to the other way so he can't touch me. I think that my move has upsetted him because he pulls me up from the floor and her hand grabs my face. I try to stay as far as possible from him but it's no use. He pulls me closer and I can smell the alcohol in his breath. In a fast movement I hit him in the nose. He screams and I take this chance to break free from his grip and run towards the other end of the alley.

"Fucking Bitch!" He screams, grabs one of his empty bottles and hits the wall. Glass shatters on the floor, he starts walking towards me with a huge piece of glass as a weapon. I try to walk further away, but my feet trip and I'm falling backwards onto the floor. I try to get up the man pins me down he puts the piece of glass on my neck and says " If you make a sound, I'm gonna fucking kill you" he picks me up from the floor and throws me towards the wall.

Pain fills my back and head, my vision blurs and I know this is the end. He starts to touch me everywhere and I can't help it but close my eyes and pray for a miracle.

What happens next is a blur, I feel a sharp pain on my arm. I let out a scream. Blood starts to come out of the wound staining my clothes. My body falls to the ground, my sight is a blur, but I can see Ally with a metal stick and the man laying on the floor unconscious.
