STEFANI'S POV:
We're walking our way back to the hotel, Nat is carrying the injured girl and it seems like the wound has stopped bleeding a while ago, which is good and maybe a sign that she doesn't need stitches. We had done almost half of the walk when the girl in my arms fell asleep, her head resting on my neck and the feeling of her steady breathing on my neck makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
My mind can't stop but wonder what had happened to both of these girls to end up in that alley, they don't look older than five or six.
We arrive at the hotel and there's no one in the lobby, we take the elevator to the 6th floor where our and my team's rooms are. I shift the sleeping girl into my right arm so I can take out the key to open the door.
Once we are inside, I look over to Natali and say "Nat, you should place her on my bed. It's warm, cozy and has the bathroom within a couple of steps." She nods and takes her to my room.
Meanwhile I unzip my jacket and sit on the couch with the little girl still in my arms, I'm afraid that if I leave her on the sofa she'll wake up. Right now both of them need to rest. It's been an eventful and overwhelming night for them and for us. I begin to stroke the girl's red waves and mumbling a tune.
From the corner of my eye I see my sister getting out of my room. She comes over to us and sits right next to me, then she looks at me.
"Yes, Nat?" I say, not stopping from what I'm doing.
"I think we should tell Bobby about what happened earlier." She says.
I let out a huff. "Natali I think it's a little late don't you think? And exactly what are you gonna tell him, huh? Look Bobby we had this great idea of going out in the middle of the night without security or telling anyone where we were going and then we just came across two girls, one of them was BLEEDING and UNCONSCIOUS and we took them here?!" I screamed/whispered so I didn't wake either of the girls up.
"Yes, exactly like that. Or will you wait until tomorrow morning when he knocks on your door and finds everything out? God, Stef you have a very important day tomorrow to just cancel hours before!" She says a little bit too loud.
The girl in my arms starts whimpering and shifting uncomfortably. I send her a deathly glare and mouth "We'll talk later" as I shift my attention back to the restless child in my arms.
"Shh, Shh, It's okay. You're safe now, remember?" I coo trying to calm her down, while stroking her hair and kissing her head. Eventually she stops whimpering, but she's not going back to sleep. "Thank you so much Natali" I think.
I can feel her shifting, so I let her change into a more comfortable position, eventually she takes her head out from where it was resting and looks up at me.
I notice her beautiful blue eyes examining every inch of my face.
"Hello darling, did you have a good nap?" I ask while looking at her soft features and freckles. She just nods her head. Her eyes widen and start to look around frantically.
"Hey, hey. It's okay, you're safe. No one's gonna hurt you" I say in an attempt to calm her down. She wasn't having it. "Where's Jo? Where is she?" She asks, her voice barely audible and starting to tear up.
"Hey darling, breath. That's right, in and out" I say. Seeing as she was starting to have a panic attack. Her breathing was returning to its original pace.
"Now, who is Jo, Darling?" I say sweetly.
"She's my sister, we were together when you saved us" She says looking at me with her big blue eyes. "You're so stupid Stefani. How could you not figure that out ?" I scold myself.
