                                                                                      CHRIS

Leaving my sister alone is a bad idea, it's like telling a kid to go on a grocery shopping alone, a BAD idea. But I got no other option, if we want to leave this place quickly we have to split and work fast.

I kind of has a picture of how this is going to end up if we were together, worse. But I also have a little knowledge about how things work here and about all the custom necessities to live here, I mean kind of.It's not that I'm curious to know about this world, But to kill time I would read books related to this world, which I absolutely hate it of course.

Now I'm currently standing in front of a public library, I think so. debating with myself if I should go and ask someone if this is the right place I'm headed to or not.The letter my grandmother sent has a address, which we don't know why she wrote it when she delivered it herself. So she gave an address of a library. why?

after hesitating I decided to go in and ask questions if anyone know my grandmother here. This place is huge but it is an ant compared to the libraries in our schools.I am searching for people who actually works here.

racks are filled with books and there's always this familiar smell around books, So refreshing!. After passing a few racks I'm stopped by this lavender fragrance, I ignored it.

I started searching for people and found none, when I decided to go back I turned and bumped into someone making the things in her hands fell down, the lavender smell!

it's a girl, she has cubby cheeks and is so short maybe it's because I'm so tall. she's carrying books and now they are on floor thanks to me, she's wearing an apron with this library logo maybe she works here, there's a name tag too her name is Gwen. I know I should apologise to her but I want to know how people behaves in this world so let's wait and see.

"I don't know if you did that intentionally or not but I'm very pissed right now" she said rolling her eyes "ugh I don't know why people are getting on my nerves today" she said angrily, huh this shortie looks cute when she's angry... wait WHAT! huh can't believe my mind maybe this is my sister leaving effect, yeah that's it.

I looked at the the books that fell down and to think that this girl carrying all these heavy books is damn great, this library should pay her more, but If she's rude to me then I'll return the debt. "look miss 'this' is your fault you should watch out if someone's coming or not before going, you should stop venting your anger on others" I tried my best to emphasise the word 'this' while pointing to the floor.

"this city has a lot of arrogant girls" I mumbled to myself wanting her to listen, her nose turned red because what she listened right now "what?! arrogant? I dare you to say that to my face and leave without a broken leg" is she threatening me? interesting, when she looked me in my eyes I see confidence there.

I matched her stare exactly and now it's a staring competition "look shortie-" someone interrupted us by a shush "everyone's trying to focus here if you two want to fight go outside please or else I'll complain this to the manager here" some middle aged woman said.

shortie sighed before went to picking those heavy books, I took half of those books from her and said "tell me where to take these" not to become a hero but it's actually my fault and I haven't apologised to her. she looked at me confusingly before actually leading me to the first floor. I placed those books in the racks they're supposed to be, "T-thank you" she said looking at the floor. when I said half I meant every book except the last two.

"should be" I said in a sarcastic tone and she looked up at me "what made you so angry though?" I asked her and she broke the eye contact again "I got a life and death situation here and that fat bald manager guy is not letting me off the work" I smiled listening to that like a 'you deserve that' smile "stop that it's annoying" she said "exactly, you did this to me first" obviously.

"now I don't have time so will you lead me to your manager room I have some important work" I said that making her eyes go wide, cute. "sure, this way, I'm about to ask my leave too"

after knocking on the door we heard a "yes, come in" from the opposite "who are you?" the manager asked "I'm Chris and I came here to know about someone" I said "about who?"  I showed him her picture "this person, she is my grandmother, she told me that she used to visit this place once in a while, do you know her?" I asked seeing his shocked expression which he tried to cover it, he must have known something.

"see young man I understand your situation but I can't help you, thousands of people used to come here and go everyday, and I don't seem to remember this lady" he said if that's what the game you want to play "she also told me to get a membership here, what a shame" I said this to myself but seeing his expression he heard it.

"look I don't know this person but I know someone who know this old lady, her name is Marry Watson" he said "perfect thanks" I said turned back to leave "wait about the membership..." he said smiling slyly "ohh I'll come with my grandmother again and we'll both get it done, ok?" and without a second turned to leave but I got an idea.

"boss I'm done with the work, now can I please leave" shortie said, "okay but you have to work overtime this weekend got it?" the manager said to which she nodded, I turned to face him and said "she just called you fat and bald by the way" her eyes went wide in fear "I'll take my leave now bye" I smiled at her and went out and closed the door.

within 5 mins she came outside "that's it? I thought it'll take at least 2 hours of lecture" I said making a disappointed face "You!" she said loudly and she released a big sigh "yeah it will take 2 hours thanks to a special 'someone' but I don't have time now get lost" she said "wait were you waiting for me?" she asked.

"huh! who do you think you are? why would I wait for someone like you" I said so confidently that it made me doubt myself. she gave me a savage smile and said "then why are you here till now?" she asked with her eyebrows raised "that's none of your business" I said it's not that obvious that I have nothing to say is it? "fine whatever now goodbye"

we both went to the exit and when we're about to part ways I heard a gasp and I turned around to see her and my eyes went wide,

"is this the life and death situation you were talking about?" I asked her, she looked like she was about to cry anytime soon "yes..." she said.
