Chapter 31 || share body heat
I changed my mind. If I were with stiles this most definitely would have happened.
It was freaking freezing right now, it was dark, and me and Noah were stuck trying to shovel around the tires of his truck so we could throw something under the wheels, and hopefully get out of this forest.
I didn't get why we had to take this stupid backroad in the first place.
I know, I know, I'm acting like a bitch. I just hate surprises to the extreme, and it seemed as if all that was being thrown at me were surprises. Sure at first it was okay, I was handling it like a boss.
Noah showed up; I was fine.
Noah got me coffee; I was fine.
Tim Horton's blew up; I was fine.
Noah saying he was going to take me away; I was not fine. It was my tipping point, and it hit a little too close to home. The last time he took me I shot a monster, found out werewolves existed, and almost got raped. All within the time span out 24 hours.
You have to realize the idea of being taken away again kind of freaked me out. Way more than being killed by a manic god/werewolf thing if you get what I'm saying.
And now we were stuck in the middle of the forest and with who knows what lurking behind those trees.
"Sarah?" A hand waved in front of my face.
I shook my head and looked up to Noah, "What?"
"Can you try to drive the truck; I'll push from back here while you accelerate. "
"Yeah." I said breathing out a sigh.
I trudged through the thickening snow to the front seat and climbed in. I twisted the key, and pushed down on the peddle. I felt the vehicle start to shift and move, but it didn't get out of the ditch I lifted my foot off the peddle.
We tried to get out for the next 45 minutes, but we were met with no success.
I looked out the door to see if Noah wanted me to try again. He was already walking up to the front.
"What the verdict?" I asked rubbing my hands together. The door was open to the truck and I was sitting sideways on the seat. Noah came stood directly in front of me, his legs brushing my knees. He took my hands in his, trying to keep mine warm.
"I've contacted someone, but it'll be a while till they get here."
I raised an eyebrow, "I thought we didn't have any cell reception."
He rolled his eyes, "I have my ways," a small smirk played across his lips.
We paused for a moment."Now you going to move over?" he asked.
"Um, I was here first."
"And it's my truck."
"And you got us stuck out here."
"And I'm stronger."
"what does tha-" my sentence was cut off when Noah scooped his one arm under my legs, and the other on my back; lifting me out of the seat. He plopped down on the seat himself and situated my body so my back was to his chest. His hands were closed around my waist.
He closed the door.
"It's gonna get cold, we should probably share body heat."
I scoffed.
"I don't hear you objecting."
"What do you think the scoff was for?" I asked.
I bet he rolled his eyes. He moved his hands from my waist to his sides. "Get off if you want, I'm not holding you here."
I contemplated this for a minute. Like actually contemplated. Okay not really. In all reality all I did was come up with a good excuse as to why I was staying there.
"Well it is getting cold..."
Okay it wasn't a good excuse. Can you'll just kill me now please? It would be kindly appreciated.
Noah let out a deep chuckle.
"Don't laugh." I snapped.
"I wasn't."
"Little bitch," I mumbled under my breath.
"I may be related to the canine species, but I'm not little, and I'm not female." Noah said, humor lacing his tone. Although, it was particularly difficult to respond when Noah had his chin resting on my shoulder, and nearly every inch of my body was exploding with tingles where our bodies connected.
Maybe this wasn't such a good idea. Not a good idea at all.
"Do you still hate me?" Noah asked curiously after the quiet had surrounded us for a couple of minutes.
"If I hated you I wouldn't have even said a word to you at the mall, let alone let you into my apartment, let you meet my family..."
"What's with all the moodiness then, -" he was about to continue his sentence but I cut him off.
"Don't ask, 'is it that time of the month', because I will literally cut your dick off," I snapped.
Noah snorted, "I'd be able to smell it if it was that time of the month."
I scrunched my nose up in disgust, "that's disgusting."
He probably rolled his eyes again. "What I was going to ask was-"
"I was just annoyed. You aren't the easiest person to be around, okay?"
"You love me."
"No, I don't."
"That cuts deep."
"I'm sure it does." Sarcasm was heavily coating everyword coming out of both mine and Noah's mouths.
He took a deep breath in, "You smell really good."
"He's smelling me, that's not creepy at all." I said, Noah chuckled again.
But the light atmoshphere was shattered by the onslaught of a human being slamming onto the windshield of the truck.
Blood red eyes looked over the body and straight in to Noah's.
The monster then jumped away from the vehicle and ran into the woods.
I shivered.
Noah and I sat in the truck wide eyed and shocked before he finally opened the door. I slid off his lap, my feet dipping into the now knee high snow.
I rushed around to the front of the vehicle and stopped when the sight before me became clear.
There firmly secured by a nail through the heart was a note with Tristan's blood splattered all over it.
