The cooking classroom was filled with the smells of freshly baked bread and the warmth of ovens working overtime as everyone got ready for today's project: making cookies from scratch. The air was buzzing with excitement—except at Kiara and Piper's station, where the tension was thick enough to cut with a knife.

Kiara was flipping through the recipe sheet, holding a spatula like it was a sword. "Okay, Piper, we need to melt the butter first."

Piper folded her arms, eyeing the butter on the counter with a raised eyebrow. "Yeah, no kidding. I'll do it. I don't trust you with the microwave."

Kiara shot her a look. "I've literally microwaved things hundreds of times."

"Oh really?" Piper smirked, reaching over for the butter. "Because last week, I'm pretty sure I saw you burn popcorn."

"That was one time," Kiara shot back, grabbing the butter stick before Piper could. She shoved it into the microwave, slamming the door for emphasis, determined to prove she could handle something as simple as melting butter.

Meanwhile, Jasmine and Talia were at the station across from them, half-heartedly preparing their ingredients while mostly focusing on each other. Talia leaned over the counter, a flirty grin playing on her lips. "So, Jasmine, think we'll actually cook today, or are we just here to mess around?"

Jasmine laughed, twirling a wooden spoon between her fingers. "Why choose? We're definitely good at multitasking."

"Oh, so you're saying I'm a distraction?" Talia teased, leaning closer.

"Who said anything about distractions?" Jasmine replied, giving her a wink. "Maybe I'm just better when I have an audience."

As the two of them giggled and exchanged playful glances, Kiara rolled her eyes. "Can you two flirt somewhere else?"

"Oh, don't be jealous, Kiara," Talia said with a smirk, not taking her eyes off Jasmine. "I'm sure Piper's thrilled to be stuck with you."

Piper snorted. "Thrilled doesn't even begin to cover it," she muttered sarcastically.

Kiara ignored the jab, setting the microwave to melt the butter. She crossed her arms, leaning against the counter. "See, Piper? Butter in the microwave, nothing to it."

But just as the words left her mouth, there was a loud pop from the microwave, followed by a wet splat. Both girls stared in horror as butter splattered against the microwave door, covering the glass in a yellow, greasy explosion.

Piper's eyes widened, her lips twitching into a smirk. "You were saying?"

Kiara, now red-faced, clenched her fists. "It's not my fault the microwave's old! It's, like, a hazard in here!"

Across the room, Jasmine and Talia burst into laughter, both covering their mouths as they took in the scene. Talia nudged Jasmine, grinning. "And here I thought today was going to be boring."

Jasmine laughed, shaking her head. "Honestly, who needs a cooking show when we have Kiara and Piper?"

Kiara, wiping butter off her shirt, shot them both a look. "I'm glad you two find this so funny."

"Oh, we do," Talia said, leaning back with a smirk. "Nothing's more entertaining than watching you two try to cook together."

Piper, wiping her own hand on a paper towel, turned to Kiara with a mock-sweet smile. "So, should I just take over now, or are you going to attempt to ruin the flour next?"

Kiara glared at her, grabbing a whisk. "Fine. I'll make the dough while you handle the ingredients. But don't even think about getting the measurements wrong."

Piper rolled her eyes, grabbing the flour and muttering under her breath. "As if you're in any position to judge."

Jasmine leaned over the counter, nudging Talia. "Think we should intervene, or just let them keep going?"

Talia shrugged, a mischievous glint in her eye. "Nah. This is way more fun to watch."

As they bickered their way through the recipe, it became clear that the cookies might not turn out the way they'd planned. But with Jasmine and Talia's endless laughter and the occasional teasing comment, Kiara and Piper somehow managed to get through the rest of the baking session—together, if not exactly in harmony.

By the end, both of them were covered in flour, butter, and a little bit of dignity lost, but neither one of them was ready to admit that they'd had, just maybe, a little fun.
