Tash's Pov:
"Mom, Dad, Tito, Tita, we're here na. Sorry if medyo na late kami" I said as I walk towards my a seat next to my parents.
"Tash, Theo you're just in time. Sit down and order your food" dad said as he instructed us to sit down.
"You look stunning, iha" tita clea Theo's mom complimented me.
"Thank you, tita. You're also dashing as always" I returned the compliment to her.
"Uhm, may I ask a question?" Theo spoke and interrupted the deafening silence.
"Of course, iho. Go ahead" my dad responded to him cheerfully.
"May I ask what's the special occasion today?" He politely asked as to not seem rude.
"As expected of your son, Roni. He's always easy to catch on" my dad then looked over at Theo's father and smile like a scheming madman.
"Well, of course he is my son after all, Fred" Tito Roni then boasted back to my father.
I looked over to Theo's side and signaled to him that something is definitely going to happen.
"dad, what are you going to tell us?" I anxiously await the words that will come out of my father's mouth.
"Well, we figured it's about time we tell you" my dad answered briefly.
"Tell us what? Come on, dad. Stop with the suspense" I whined like a child.
"Well, me and your Tito Roni are going to start a new business collaboration" my dad said.
"And I'm guessing that's not all because you called us here after all" I wasn't able to keep my thoughts to myself as I feel a strange shiver down my spine as if it's telling me that something big is about to go down.
"Well, you caught on fast. To effectively unify the business and to prevent any future betrayals, we decided to set up an arrangement" Tito Roni said.
"I'm guessing that arrangement involves us?" Theo spoke as if he already knew what was coming.
"Yes, you're right. We have set you to be wed" Tito Roni smiled from ear to ear.
I was im daze after what I heard, my whole body felt still and frozen as if something really cold has hit me.
"What? This is joke right?" I tried to laugh it off as joke but I soon realized that it was no joke at all as their faces went stoic and serious.
"Dad, you know what we are" Theo yelled at Tito Roni.
"Theo, I know you're thinking that I'm doing this to make you miserable but we're only just looking out for the two of you's future" Tito Roni said in a calm face but you can feel the pressure that lie beneath his gently expression.
"Theo, don't get mad at your father. We're doing this para din sa ikabubuti nyo" tita clea tried to calm Theo down.
"Para sa ikakabuti namin? My god, I can't believe you can lie like that straight to my face, ma" theo said to tita clea with visible pain and lose of trust.
"Just admit it, you're just using us as pawns in your business. Cause all you guys care about is your god damn business" Theo's voice echoed through the restaurant walls but luckily we we're on a private room so there were no witnesses.
"Tash? Talk to Theo" dad instructed me as he removed his glasses and messaged his temple.
"What?" I yelled in frustration.
"Tash, please don't do this now. Just console Theo, I'm sure he'll listen to you" he once again ordered without even looking at me nkr considering my feelings about this whole situation.
"Why dad? Hindi mo manlang ba itatanong if I'm okay with this?" I yelled at him.
"Tash, don't yell at your father like that" mom interrupted me.
"Donna, let her be. She must have been frustrated about the sudden news, it's her right to express how she feels" tita clea butted in our little argument.
"Tash, please just listen to your father, will you?" Dad said as he looked stressed.
"Bakit? Ha? Bakit kita kailangang sundin? Theo is right, you only see us as pawns to your plans" I yelled at him angrily until tears started falling out of my eyes.
"Ever since nalaman mo na lesbian ako, you spared me no time at all. You even acted as if i didn't exist anymore. And the
worst part, is when you took your dead mistresses children to our house dad. You didn't even consider how I would feel while you shower them with affection while leaving me out and only need me to do your biddings" I yelled everything that I felt through that very moment. All of them went silent as they hear the unsaid pains in our hearts, I used that moment to take theo out of that place.
"Are you alright?" Theo asked in a soft tone.
"Di bagay sayo, baks. Ang corny" Sabi ko as I tried to laugh a bit.
"I'm used to it, actually napuno nalang talaga ko eh. I exploded, I wanted to say it all or else I'll drown" I said as I leaned towards the car's window.
"It's okay, it's better to release it rather that to let yourself sink" he patted me as a sign of comfort.
"Baks, seriously kadiri, ihhhh" I said as we both laugh.
"Ikaw na nga lang pinapatahan ayaw mo pa" he said as he playfully rolled his eyes.
"Alam mo baks, maybe it's not such a bad idea" I looked at him with a tired eyes.
"What is? Oh you mean?" His words faded as he realized the meaning behind my words.
"The marriage? You and me against the world"
"Against the world, ang oa ah. You're still cringier than me.
"I mean if we take it, will we be finally free from them?" I looked at him him, emptiness was visible towards my brown eyes.
"I mean, it's not like we have a better option. We protest now but later, we are still pulled back to them"
"We'll get through with this, like you said it's me and you against the world. Or in this case our parents" he said as he smiled brightly at me.
"I wish someday, they'll accept us for who we are. Instead of treating us like some kind of broken dolls that needs to be fixed" my words are filled with pain and bitterness.
"We're like two birds trapped inside a golden cage, and it's suffocating that you just want to force yourself out of it"
