"so, how long are you going to stay in my condo?" I frown as I look at the man in front of me.

"Hmm, I don't know" he shrugged as he make his way to the living room.

"Theo, inuubos mo yung groceries ko eh. Buti sana if nagcocontribute ka sa pag bili" sumimangot ako at umupo sa tabi nya.

"Sus, damot ah. Fine I'll contribute na" Sabi nito sabay abot sa wallet nya.

"But seriously hanggang kelan ka ba maglulungga dito?" Tanong sabay hablot sa 5k na iniabot nya saakin.

"Wow, after mo kunin yung pera ko papalayasin moko" irap naman nito sakin.

"It's not that, I'm just asking"

"I don't know yet, all I know is ayaw ko sa bahay" Sabi nito sabay abot ng remote ng tv.

"Then, why don't you stay sa condo mo?" I said as I slap his feet na nakapatong sa lamesa ko.

"I can't..." he mumbled quietly.

"What? Why?" I looked at him head on.

"My dad confiscated all my things" he looked down as he said those words.

"Is it because of the marriage?"

"Yes, he's backing me in a corner. And your dad will surely do the same to you soon, he's even considering to let my second brother to take my place in the marriage" he said as rest his head in the headboard of the sofa.

"What?, That's absurd, how can he do that to his son" I yelled.

"He's always been like that, treating us like we're his pawns"

"Well, he offered me a deal. He said that if I take this marriage, he'll finally let me go" he said as he look to me.

"Let you go?" I pretended to not know what he's talking about.

"He said that I'll be free and he'll return everything to me. He said that he'll let me do anything I want, just take the marriage" frustration was visible through his eyes.

"And the deal even included my brothers freedom, wherein he will let them be free"

"You're considering to take it, aren't you?" I said in a cold tone.

"Tash, it's an opportunity to free my brothers. To not let them suffer the same fate I'm going through" he pleaded desperately.

"I know where this is going, and my answer is no" I was about to stand but he grabbed my hand.

"Please, they're pushing me in a corner" he said as he knelt down the floor.

"I knew it would come to this sooner or later, don't you see it?" I said as I pull my hand away from his grip.

"What do you mean?" Confusion started showing in his face.

"It's my father's influence, he's telling your parents to push you in a corner" I said full of hate and bitterness.

"Your parents might be strict but I believe they won't do something like this, because unlike mine they actually cares and loves their children" he sat there silent as tears began falling down his cheeks.

"I know how important that deal means to you, but why do I have to suffer too?" I turned to face him.

"I know it sounds selfish, but all my life I I've always been caged by my parents expectations and orders. So tell me, why must it always be me? Why can't I be free?" I said in the brink of tears.

"Tash, please, I'm begging you"

"Do you even know kung gaano kalaking bagay Yung hinihiling mo?" My voice cracked as I said those words.

"I know, that's why I'm begging" he said emotionless.

"Theo, did you even consider my opinion about this? Did you even consider my feelings? Ha?" I cried as I yell on top of my lungs.

"I..." he couldn't even look at me in the eye as he try to find an answer to my question.

"You know what, nevermind. It's pointless cause no one really cares about me" I said emotionless as I wipe my tears.

"Let's do it, it will happen sooner or later anyway. Kahit na labag sa loob natin, they will still find ways to make us do it"

"Do you mean it?" Theo looked up to my face as the light in his eyes began to ignite once more.

"It's not like I have a choice" I said in a sarcastic tone.

"Thank you" Theo stood up and hugged me tight.

"Baks, di ako makahinga" theo immediately let me go as soon as he heard my complaints.

"Grabe ha, ano gusto mo nako patayin?" I said as I held my chest.

"Eto naman, diba pedeng natuwa lang?" He finally smiled as both our tears have dried.

The next day we decided to call for a meeting with our parents to discuss about our marriage.

"You sure about this?" Theo held my shoulder.

"Baks, ang creepy ha. I'm fine, pero are you sure you want to do this?" I passed the question back to him.

"I'm sure, for my brothers sake"

We both head in a the private room of a fancy restaurant. The server led us into a corridor where the will be and soon we stopped by a door.

"Here's the room you reserve, ma'am, sir, your company has been waiting for you inside" the server then takes his leave as we stand in front of the door.

"Baks, natatae ata ako" bulong naman sakin ng bakla.

"Gaga ka talaga kahit kelan, baks" pinalo ko naman ang braso nya para bumalik ito sa katotohanan.

"Wag ka matakot, kahit naman mukang aso yung tatay ko, di Naman Yun nangangagat" napahalakhak naman ito.

"Let's go in" Theo said as he twist the doorknob.

Soon we met the gazes of our parents, just watching us as we enter the room.

"You guys are here, have you decided yet?" My father didn't waste any time to ask us.

"Yes, we will get married" I said as I stand firm and tall.

"Good, now the marriage will proceed after your graduation"

"For the time being, here's the key to your house" my mother handed us a house key.

"Our house?" We both asked at the same time.

"Yes, you'll be living together until your wedding" tita clea said as she smile from ear to ear.

"WHAAATTT!"
