Rays of orange sun light that made their way through the small opening in the curtains where enough for the young agent to wake up. ''Another day to survive at work.'' Skylar whispered as she reached for her phone and unplugged it from its charger. ''6 am. Great.'' Skylar said as she looked at the time on her Home Screen.
After giving her brain a little more time to wake up she swinged her legs over the bed. ''Maybe taking Hendrick out for a ride is a good idea.'' Skylar sighed as she stood up.
After she rubbed her eyes to get most of the sleep out of her eyes she walked over to the red velvet chair in the corner of the room. ''I really need to fix the clothes on the chair thing.'' Skylar laughed as she shook her head and tried to find her horse riding clothes.
The moment she came downstairs she was greeted by a energetic Australian shepherd running over to her. ''Hi Cissy!'' Skylar smiled as she kneeled down and ruffled the dog's hair. ''Morning Skylar.'' A voice said as Skylar looked up. 'Morning Jenna.'' Skylar smiled as she looked at the elderly woman. ''You okay? Anything you need? You are up early.'' Skylar said as her eyes scanned over the body of the woman in front of her. ''I am okay Skylar. I was waiting for Sophie to call me but I guess she didn't have a good connection.'' Jenna sighed as she sat down. ''Yeah I know. I am trying to get a hold of her for a couple of days.'' Skylar said as she let out a small sigh. ''I am sure she is fine. At least she is alive.'' Skylar said as Jenna's eyes widened. ''I know. I know that it is probably nothing but I would really want to talk to my daughter.'' Jenna said as Skylar nodded. ''She will call. I am sure she will call you and she will talk your ear off with all the things that happened.'' Skylar said as Jenna stood up, making her way to Skylar. ''Thankyou for the little talk. I needed it.'' Jenna said as Skylar nodded. ''I should go so I can give Hendrick some much needed movement.'' Skylar laughed as Jenna smiled. ''Go! I won't keep you any longer.'' Jenna smiled as she patted the young woman's shoulder.
''Come on Cissy! Let's go!'' Skylar smiled as she made her way outside.
''You are going for a ride, McKinnon?" A female voice as Skylar looked up. 'Hi Charlie.' Skylar smiled as she was holding the saddle and the other stuff she would need in her hands. ''I really want to get some time in with Hendrick before I start my day at work.'' Skylar said as the older woman nodded. ''How do you like your work at the- what was it again?' Charlie asked as Skylar let out a small chuckle. ''I got assigned to the Behavioural Analysis Unit.'' Skylar said as Charlie nodded. ''Aah now I get why you are always talking about the BAU to miss Morris.'' Charlie said as she tapped her finger to the side of her head. ''Do you like it? Your new job?"' The middle-aged woman asked as Skylar looked down, trying to find an answer to Charlie's question. ''I uhm- I think I do? It is- it is a group of badass agents that are really close with each other.'' Skylar said as Charlie nodded. ''You feel like an outsider?'' Charlie asked as Skylar chuckled. ''Definitely. But it is more complicated than that.'' Skylar sighed as Charlie nodded. ''You can always come work with me! I am sure Jenna will give you a job if you ask nicely.'' Charlie smiled as Skylar laughed. ''I will keep that in mind Char.'' Skylar smiled as Charlie nodded, clearly satisfied with herself. ''Go give Hendrick some attention and then go do your cool FBI job!" Charlie smiled as Skylar nodded. '''Goodluck with your work here Charlie!'' Skylar smiled as she made her way to the stables.
Once she made her way to the stables, a smile started to form on her face. '''Hi buddy.'' Skylar smiled as she put her things on the little pole and opened the stable door. ''Wanna get a ride in?'' Skylar asked as she placed her hand against the horse's head. '''i love you okay?'' She smiled as the horse pushed his nose against Skylar's shoulder.
After getting everything ready she led the horse to the riding area. ''We have two hours until I have to be at work, bud.'' Skylar smiled as got onto the horse.
