Nick
When I woke up, I could tell straight away I had over slept. I'd been tossing and turning for most of the night, unable to think about anything other than the fact I had slept with Charlie. I rolled over to check my phone, and saw that I had two texts from him.[8:17] Charlie: Morning ☺️ is it okay if I come over about 10?
[9:02] Charlie: You awake??
[9:34] Nick: Morning! Sorry I've just woken up, but yes you can come at 10 😊
[9:35] Charlie: Are you sure?
[9:35] Nick: Yeah, of course. I'm getting up now, I just need to have a shower and I'll be ready
[9:36] Charlie: Okay, see you soon 😊
[9:36] Nick: See you soon 😘I put some music on, and went straight into the bathroom for a shower. I felt excited to see him, and even more excited that I would get to spend the day with him before going back to Leeds. It was going to be hard to say goodbye, but it would only be about two months until I was home for the summer.
Charlie
At nine fifty, I started walking to Nick's house. I felt excited to see him, but also a bit nervous. I had told him yesterday it wouldn't be awkward, but I didn't know if what happened would effect our friendship in any way.It was probably for the best we couldn't really remember it, but it still happened, and knowing that did feel weird. We had been naked and intimate together, crossed lines that could easily change a friendship.
I paused before ringing the door bell, I heard dogs barking and then saw Nick's smiley face as he opened the front door. He was wearing a jumper and joggers, both in the same light grey colour. I tried to ignore it, but I couldn't deny the instant flip in my stomach.
"Hey." He said happily.
"Hey." I smiled, stepping into the house and trying to act normal.Nellie and Henry were a welcome distraction. I crouched down to fuss them both, then picked Henry up and he enthusiastically licked all over my face.
"Ah! Henry!" I giggled, spluttering.
"Charlie doesn't want your tongue in his mouth." Nick laughed, taking him from me.His hand brushed against mine, and I felt something I never had before. I didn't know what it was, but it made my whole body tingle. What he said, also caused a flashback to when his tongue was in my mouth, and I think he could tell I had become a little flustered.
"You okay?" He asked softly.
"Yeah, you?" I smiled.
"Yeah, do you want tea?" He asked, putting Henry back on the floor.
"Yeah, thanks." I said a bit awkwardly. His eyes scanned my face, full of concern and then he pulled me into his arms and hugged me tight.
"What are you doing?" I giggled, hugging him back.
"Defusing the tension." He chuckled.
"This is so silly, it's not like we even remember it." I laughed.
"Stop being weird then." He teased, letting go of me.
"I'm not." I giggled.
"Come on." He chuckled softly, placing his hand on my upper back and guiding me through to the kitchen.Nick
Charlie was nervous and awkward, which he hadn't been around me since the first day we spoke. I wanted to put him at ease, so I forced myself to act completely normal with him.I didn't acknowledge his timid behaviour, and carried the conversation until he relaxed. It seemed to work, and soon we were laughing and joking like we always did.
About half an hour later, my mum arrived home. She walked into the kitchen, and smiled at us as we sat at the table, drinking our tea and eating toast.
"Hello boys." She said warmly.
"Hey." We both said unison.
"Charlie was just telling me how terrible school is without me." I teased.
"I didn't say that!" He giggled.
"You say it all the time." I chuckled.
"Do you two have anything planned for today?" She asked, flicking the kettle on.
"Tara asked if we wanted to meet them all in the park." Charlie said, looking at me.
"Sounds good, we can take the dogs." I smiled.
"Did you have a good birthday?" She asked him.
"Yeah, yeah it was good." He said, glancing at me and being way too obvious.
"Oh, your present!" I said, jumping up.
"Did you nearly forget again?" He laughed.
"Hang on." I chuckled, leaving the kitchen.
