It was a normal morning in Barbie's Gay House : Karen was eating cereal straight from the box, Gretchen was getting pissed at how slow the coffee machine was, and Regina was wondering how Damian could be in such a good mood so early in the morning.

"Why shouldn't I be?" the young man asked, dancing around the kitchen.

"Ugh," Regina grunted, "stop that."

"I'm gonna drink my coffee in my room," Gretchen mumbled.

"Nooooooooo," Karen complained.

That little scene got interrupted by Janis walking in the kitchen. Everyone stopped and stared at her.

"Am I hallucinating or is Janis awake before 10am?" Damian whispered.

"Janis, what are you doing here?" Regina asked.

The brunette frowned, "I live here," she mumbled.

"I think she meant, why are you up so early?" Damian said, "are you okay? Did someone die again?"

"Damian!" Janis and Regina screamed at the same time.

The brunette sighed, "Everything's fine," she said, "but I made a decision."

Her four housemates stared at her, their eyes widened.

"Oh no," Damian said, "I have a bad feeling."

"Nevermind," Janis said and started walking out.

"Janis!" Regina said, grabbing her arm to bring her back to the kitchen, "why don't you tell us more?"

The brunette grunted and took a seat. Karen offered her some cereal but she shook her head.

"I've been thinking," Janis started, "I need money, and I'm tired of staying home all day long. So I decided to look for a job."

"Oh that's great," Regina smiled.

"What kind of job?" Gretchen asked.

"Any kind, I actually have an interview at that store Karen loves so much."

"The supermarket!" Karen smiled.

"I never understood why you love that store so much," Damian said.

"It's cheap," she replied, "and it has all of those fun snacks from other countries, and the cashier is so nice, one time I forgot my wallet and they kept all my stuff while I went home to get it!"

"Yeah anyway," Janis said, "they had an open position so I applied."

"That's great babe," Regina smiled at her, "I hope it goes well."

Damian scoffed, Janis gave him a death stare.

"What?" the young man said, "I love you, but do you really think you can manage a cashier job?"

"Of course I can," the brunette yelled, "wanna bet?"

"Fine," he answered, "I'll give you 50 dollars if you get hired and keep this job for more than two weeks."

The two friends shook their hands, while the three ex-plastics stared at them worryingly.

Later that day Janis ran into Damian's room.

"Jeez," the young man yelled, "could you at least knock?"

"You better get those fifty dollars ready, because ya girl just got herself a job!" Janis exclaimed, ignoring her friend's comment and doing her happy dork dance.

"Damn girl," Damian smiled, "congrats! Welcome to the wonderful world of adulthood."

"Hey," the brunette frowned, "I am an adult."
