Chapter 2 (option 1)

Happy Friday, my grandparent's are doing alright! I decided imma update it super early rather than later when I'm busy taking care of 'em. My grandma fell and broke like...8 of her ribs, my grandfather has terrible dementia that's just eating away at him, and their dog has trauma from losing his older sister who we recently had to put down. It's been a lot but you know we're family and we don't give up on each other.

"Hey Gri!"

Grian glanced over his shoulder and saw Scar smiling and waving.

"Oh- hi Scar. What's up?" Grian put down his boxes in the wagon before taking the handle.

"I was just about to head down to the station, wanna come with?" Scar strolled over to his friend.

"Umm..." Grian glanced back at his base, hesitating as he thought.

He shrugged and turned back to Scar.

"Sure, I guess it's good to meet them."

"Yeah! It'll be fun!"

They strolled through the forest, Grian's wagon trailing behind them.

"Have you cleared out your castle, yet?" Grian asked, making small talk.

"Mostly, yeah. Just keeping the essentials. Food, water, furnaces, beds, stuff like that."

Grian nodded and Scar bopped his head as they walked.

Grian chuckled.

"Always got a tune stuck in your head, huh?" He asked, tilting his head.

"You know it." Scar winked, causing Grian to laugh.

They walked past Scarland, and Scar smiled proudly at his creations.

Grian stared up at it before turning to his friend.

"Are you sure you're ready to leave?" Grian asked in a softer tone.

"Yeah, it'll..." Scar hesitated and he waved it off. "Not like I can lose the memories of it anyways."

"You always say that, you know?"

"Because it's true!"

"But...doesn't this mean more to you?"

Scar looked down.

"It...it's pretty tall. I'm sure I can find it after we start fresh." Scar said, nodding confidently.

"Yeah...maybe." Grian shrugged.

"Besides, sometimes I like a new plot of land to build on."

"I mean, yeah sure, but this is huge. You put so much time into it."

...

"It's just time to move on. This happens every year." Scar tried to wave it off and continued their walk. Grian narrowed his eyes but followed, tugging his wagon behind him.

The wheels squeaked and bounced as it hit the pavement.

"Are you excited?" Scar asked, looking down at the younger male.

"For what?"

"New people, new adventures."

"Yeah...it'll be something. But sometimes I'm still stuck on the old adventures..." Grian whispered, thinking back to his journal.

"I get that." Scar sighed, stuffing his hands in his pockets.

"You do?"

Scar nods, staring down intently at his feet.

"Weird how curiosity doesn't seem to leave until you find the answer, huh?" Scar asked.

Grian smiled a bit.

"I guess it is..."

The pair arrived at the shopping district where most people stood.

Gem walked over and put down her giant, overflowing backpack with a thump. She groaned and stretched, tying her hair into a messy bun.

"Jeez, what're you carrying?" Scar asked.

"Everything I thought I needed." Gem said.

"So everything?" Grian smirked, raising an eyebrow.

Gem rolled her eyes and Bdubs walked over.

"I need to reach my friend!!" He mocked in a high pitched voice.

"Shut up, Bdubs! I will not allow you to strap me to a rocket and send me off to my new base." Gem huffed and Bdubs cackled.

Gem shouted and Bdubs scattered off, hiding behind the intimidating male known as Etho.

"Bdubs, I'm not gonna be your human shield forever." Etho said, chuckling.

"Maybe not, but you are for now." Bdubs smirked and Gem glared at the two.

Grian laughed and the group heard a loud horn in the distance.

They all turned to see a red train making its way down the tracks.

Mumbo stood at the train station, a warm smile on his face, ready to greet the new people.

The train slowed down with a loud screech, causing people to wince. Scar covered his ears and peeked an eye open when the door opened.

"Welcome!! It's nice to finally meet you. I'm Mumbo Jumbo, the. mayor of this town." Mumbo held out his hand.

Grian saw someone step out and Scar started his way forward.

1) Follow Scar and greet them

2) Stop Scar from bugging them and listen to Mumbo's welcome speech
