Madagascar: One Battle To Rule Them All

Chapter 1: Rise and Shine

It has been a few years since the events of Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa. Makunga was defeated, but his fate was left ambiguous to many.

However, behind the scenes on Makunga's side, things were very different, and very surprising. Nobody knew, but Makunga also has a son, just like his rival, Zuba. Although his son is slightly younger than Alakay, he shares his same motives of dominance and power.

This lion's name, is Afua. He is what Makunga believes as "raised to perfection". Unlike his rival's son, Makunga's son is very set on his goal, and won't let anyone, not even friends, stop him.

In Makunga's story, however, things were very, very different. Shortly after his defeat, he was captured by the humans. However, the humans were rescued by a helicopter. Makunga was shipped to New York in a zoo. However, he vowed to escape and return, bigger and better. Fortunately for him, the doors to freedom opened themselves, as due to concerns about the zoo, Makunga was one of many animals sent back to Africa, and he ended up back in his reserve.

Alakay had already left to try and go back to New York by then, triggering the events of Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted. Although that made his plot for revenge against him a lot harder, his new plan came along.

When he was locked up in New York, he realised just how small the reserve actually was compared to literally everything else. This only made him more power-hungry. He had a plan that could conquer the reserve, but he knew that he would feel inferior to everything else, and insignificant. He needed more. He needed everything, and nothing will stop him now.

He returned to his base of operations (a small cave) to find Afua, his son, there with Teetsi, a new recruit named Terence, and a bounty hunter tigress named Carli.

Makunga: I'm back! What is this‽

Afua: Dad, you're back! We've been silently roaming.

Makunga: I can see that. Who are these two? (He gestures to Terence and Carli.)

Afua: Glad you asked. This here, is Terence, he's a new recruit of ours.

Terence: Glad to see you again, Makunga. (They shake hands.)

Makunga: What about her?

Afua: She's-

Carli cuts him off.

Carli: Let me handle this, darling. I'm Carli. I'm a bounty hunter from off the reserve. It's a pleasure to meet you sir.

Makunga: Bounty hunter, you say? You would be really good for captures and other things.

Afua: She has lots of experience, so she's a real value to our team.

Makunga: What's with the clothing, anyway?

Afua is wearing a red fabric trench coat with golden trims and highlights, along with a red fedora with a gold ring around it.

Afua: It makes me feel powerful, like a leader, like a god.

Makunga: Anyway, we're going to take back what's ours, and expand it.

Teetsi (sleepily): I thought the pride was enough.

Makunga: So did I. But, it turns out that Alakay defeating me was a blessing in disguise. I was shipped to New York and saw how much is out there. If we seize these "factories" we can create unstoppable things.
