Chapter 4: Step by Step

Xia Wan sat in front of her desk and looked at the busy scene in the office area, a wave of complex emotions welling up in her heart. 

This internship was not unfamiliar to her - in her previous life, this was the place where she was ostracized and ridiculed.

Those gray memories surfaced before her eyes, and she could almost hear the sneering tones of her colleagues in the past, could feel Lily Zhao's contemptuous eyes, and Lin Kai's voice tinged with contempt.

Zhao Lily stood in front of her desk, tossing a pile of documents around and commanding impatiently.

"Okay, Sister Zhao."

Her obedience clearly pleased Lily Zhao.

 Xia Wan looked at her back and secretly sneered.

Xia Wan picked up the documents and walked towards Lin Kai's office. She gently placed the documents on Lin Kai's desk and raised her eyes to look at the man who had once made her feel depressed. 

Lin Kai's expression was still cold, with an arrogant confidence between his brows.

 He was so proud of the power he held that he had become accustomed to belittling his subordinates, and didn't care to pay attention to those "insignificant" people.

"Organize these documents in order and send them to the Finance Department within today." 

Lin Kai didn't even raise his head and just gave a short command.

"Yes, Manager Lin." Xia Wan answered in a low voice, hiding the chill in her eyes.

She silently exited the office, secretly calculating in her mind.

 Lin Kai's office, the documents, the finance department ...... these places and contents would be the key links in her plan, but she knew that to truly approach this core information, she would need the help of Lily Zhao.

Xia Wan returned to her seat and looked through the documents in her hands, and found that the cover of one of the documents was particularly conspicuous, marked with the words "Financial Special Audit".
