Virtual existence
Leez fought the urge to throw his phone straight towards the plain white wall he stared at all along, fighting very thought I his head telling him to just smash it all up, he sighed loudly as he leaned back on his chair tapping his thumb lightly on his index finger rubbing it back and fourth every once in a while, he must have stayed I that position for a while until his brain came back to life and he picked up his phone and dialed a phone number.
Leez listened to the phone ring, feeling a thrill of satisfaction as Heeseung finally answered. It had been weeks of secret meetings, passing information back and forth without San ever suspecting a thing. Leez had put in the work, carefully pulling strings to make sure that San’s trust remained unwavering. And all the while, he was feeding Heeseung and Jake every detail they needed to bring San down.
"Heeseung," Leez greeted, a smirk forming on his face. There was no pretense here; both of them knew exactly where his loyalties lay. "I trust you’ve been keeping up with our little updates?"
"Of course," Heeseung replied, his voice laced with smug satisfaction. "You’re playing this game well, Leez. San has no idea you’ve been helping his enemies from the start. It’s almost admirable — if he weren’t such a fool."
Leez laughed softly, leaning back in his chair. "He’s too wrapped up in his own ambition to see what’s right in front of him. But that works to our advantage, doesn’t it?"
Heeseung’s chuckle was dark and approving. "Exactly. And with Jake away on a mission, San’s even more vulnerable. You’ve done well keeping him in the dark, but it’s time to start putting the final pieces in place."
Leez felt a thrill run through him. He had always known his alliance with San was temporary, a stepping stone on the way to something greater. San’s blind trust made it all too easy to siphon information, resources, and people, bringing Heeseung and Jake closer to their ultimate goal — taking San out of the picture.
"So what’s next?" Leez asked, his tone almost casual. "Now that San’s isolated, it won’t take much to push him over the edge."
Heeseung’s voice turned colder, more calculating. "Exactly. Keep playing along, letting him believe you’re his most trusted ally. When the time is right, you’ll lead him straight into the trap."
Leez’s smirk deepened, feeling the thrill of finally seeing his true loyalty come to fruition. "Consider it done."
Leez leaned back, a quiet satisfaction settling over him as he ended the call. The faint glow from his phone cast a dim light across his face, highlighting the cold gleam in his eyes. He was already several steps ahead, having long since decided that his loyalty to San was nothing more than a means to an end.
This alliance with Heeseung — and by extension, Jake — had been his real goal from the beginning. He had woven himself into San’s inner circle, manipulating events, carefully pulling strings, feeding San’s ambitions while quietly steering him toward ruin.
It was almost laughable how much San trusted him, oblivious to the fact that Leez had been undermining him at every turn. Every plan San shared, every bit of intel he whispered in confidence, Leez had passed right along to Heeseung. And now, as they neared the endgame, all that patience was finally paying off.
Leez glanced down at his phone, a faint smile playing on his lips. Soon, San would be exactly where they wanted him, and Leez would be standing on the winning side.
For now, all he had to do was play his part a little longer.
Leez tucked his phone into his pocket, a quiet, satisfied sigh escaping his lips as he stood. He had spent months molding himself into San’s most trusted confidant, subtly guiding San’s decisions while keeping him blind to the betrayal unfolding around him. Now, with each passing day, San was walking further into the web he’d spun with Heeseung and Jake.
The irony wasn’t lost on him — San thought of Leez as his right hand, the one ally who would do anything for him. But Leez had never once been on San’s side. Every time he’d helped San plan an attack, every time he’d recruited someone for San, it had been calculated, deliberate. Each move had a purpose, each word another step closer to San’s downfall.
As he paced, Leez felt the weight of his double life, the thrill of outsmarting San, feeding his desire for power and control. Soon, San would see him for what he really was, but by then, it would be too late.
A slight smirk played at the corner of his mouth as he muttered to himself, “Almost there.”
Leez stood in the quiet of the room, feeling the full weight of his decisions. His hand tightened around the edge of the table as his mind ran through the final stages of the plan. There was no turning back now. San’s trust in him had been the perfect cover, but Leez knew the moment he played his final card, everything would change.
Heeseung's words echoed in his mind: "Keep playing along... when the time is right, you’ll lead him straight into the trap."
Leez had already set the wheels in motion. He had fed San just enough false confidence to keep him unaware, while Heeseung and Jake waited for the perfect moment to strike. The moment when everything would collapse — when Leez would step aside, and San would finally see that he had been walking toward his demise the whole time.
The cold rush of anticipation filled him. He was ready. Heeseung would handle the clean-up once San was out of the way. Leez had already thought of his next move — he wouldn’t just be the survivor in this game; he’d be the one who controlled the pieces.
And with that, he made his move.
