Jin's hands gripped the steering wheel as he navigated the winding roads from Seoul to Gwacheon. The silence in the car was heavy, broken only by the hum of the engine and the occasional swish of passing vehicles. Taehyung stole glances at Jin, wanting to start a conversation but hesitating every time he saw Jin's stern expression.
Taehyung's mind drifted back to the reception. It had been a grand affair, filled with laughter and music, but underneath the surface, tension simmered. Jin had spent most of the time chatting with his friends, flashing smiles and exuding charm, yet barely acknowledging Taehyung's presence. To the guests, they seemed like the perfect couple, but Taehyung could feel the growing chasm between them. His heart ached with uncertainty and anxiety.
Throughout the reception, Taehyung sought solace in his best friend, Jimin, who was always a beacon of support. Jimin, along with his boyfriend Jungkook, stayed close, offering words of comfort. "It's going to be okay, Tae. Just give it some time," Jimin had whispered, squeezing his shoulder reassuringly.
The reception's atmosphere was a curious blend of celebration and underlying strain. Laughter and clinking glasses filled the air, but Taehyung couldn't shake off the feeling of being an outsider at his wedding. When the host called for the newly married couple to share a dance, Jin hesitated for a fraction of a second before obliging. As they swayed to the music, the distance between them felt palpable, their movements stiff and mechanical.
The drive seemed endless, but finally, they arrived at Jin's mansion in Gwacheon. Jin parked the car, got out, and opened the door with a code. Without a word, he entered, leaving Taehyung to follow. Taehyung sighed, grabbing his suitcase from the trunk and dragging it inside.
The mansion was impressive, with high ceilings and modern decor. Large windows flooded the rooms with natural light, and the furniture was sleek and luxurious. A grand staircase spiraled up to the second floor, and the walls were adorned with tasteful artwork.
Taehyung stood in the entryway, taking it all in, feeling both overwhelmed and out of place. He turned to Jin, who was already walking away. "Where is my room?" Taehyung asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
Jin paused, turning slightly. "Down the hall, second door on the left," he replied curtly before continuing down the corridor.
Taehyung watched him go, his heart heavy with the weight of their situation. He made his way to the room Jin had indicated, dragging his suitcase behind him. As he stepped inside, he took a deep breath, hoping that this new chapter of their lives would somehow bring them closer together. But deep down, he knew it would be a long and challenging journey.

That evening, Taehyung wandered through the mansion, realizing Jin was nowhere to be found. The emptiness of the house echoed his feelings of isolation. Determined to make the best of the situation, he decided to cook dinner, hoping Jin would return soon. Hours passed, and the food grew cold on the table. Taehyung waited, his anxiety building with each passing minute.
At midnight, Taehyung was in his room, trying to distract himself with a book, when he heard the front door open. His heart leaped with excitement, and he quickly got up from his bed, eager to see Jin. But as he stepped into the hallway, his excitement turned to shock.
There, in the dimly lit foyer, stood Jin, his arms wrapped around a woman. They were locked in a passionate kiss, and it was clear that Jin was drunk. The sight of them together, so intimate and careless, hit Taehyung like a punch to the gut.
Taehyung's breath caught in his throat, and he felt a wave of nausea wash over him. His mind raced, struggling to process what he was seeing. The betrayal cut deep, and he felt tears prick at the corners of his eyes. He wanted to scream, to demand an explanation, but he was frozen in place, unable to move or speak.
Jin, oblivious to Taehyung's presence, continued his drunken embrace with the woman. Taehyung's heart shattered as he watched, feeling utterly helpless and alone. Finally, he turned away, retreating to his room with a heavy heart. He closed the door behind him, sinking to the floor as silent tears streamed down his face. The reality of his unwanted marriage had never felt more painful.
