The colleague announced, and upon hearing that name, his blood boiled. The mere mention of Sejin brought about a flood of anger and resentment within him, causing his body to tense up in response.
Without hesitation, Felix rushed towards the location where Sejin was waiting.
As he entered the room, he saw Sejin sitting on an office chair, calmly scrolling through his phone. It was hard to imagine someone that he had betrayed a friend and driven him to resign.
His anger boiled over, and he couldn't hold himself back any longer. He forcefully grabbed Sejin by his collar and dragged him up from the chair, his grip tight and filled with pent-up frustration."You son of a b*tch, you're here to mock me for leaving the job, right?"
Felix bellowed, his voice filled with anger and betrayal.
Sejin, held tightly in his grip, found himself struggling for breath as his collar tightened around his neck.
He managed to break free from Felix's grip, gasping and coughing as he tried to catch his breath."Man, don't act like you suffered too much... I suggested you to put my name on your project, but you refused. Because of you, I didn't get the promotion, and I had to leave a decent life too,"
Sejin explained, his voice laced with bitterness and resentment.
"You expect me to put your name on a project that you never even contributed to? Are you kidding me?How can you even ask that? You did nothing for the project, and you want me to give you credit? It's absurd!"
Felix exclaimed, his voice rising in anger."I couldn't contribute because I was busy with something else. As a friend, you should be kind and understanding. Otherwise, you'll find out what can happen,"
Sejin retorted, his tone filled with arrogance and menace."Friend my foot. I've recorded every word you said. I have evidence ready. Wait and see."
A smug smile crept across his face now that he had tangible proof of Sejin's true intentions.Sejin let out a scoffing chuckle, "Evidence?? What a joke. You think you can do anything to me with that little trick? You know I have a strong connection with the company's superiors, right? Do you really want to become a clown or something?"
The confidence in Felix's demeanor faded upon hearing Sejin's statement. The mention of Sejin's strong connections with the company superiors suddenly cast a shadow of doubt in hi mind, leaving him feeling uncertain about the effectiveness of his plan.
"I agree that you have connections with the superiors, and you could get promoted whenever you want. Then why bother me?"
His words carried a hint of disbelief and frustration."Superiors are not the ones who decide promotions. It's the owner themselves. The project can bring me a good reputation." Sejin explained,
Felix's energy seemed to drain from his body as a sense of disappointment washed over him. His shoulders slumped, his expression mirroring the crushing reality of the situation.
"I'm your friend... How could you do this to me?"
Felix's eyes welled up with tears, his voice laced with pain and disbelief.
Sejin looked impassively at him and said,"Friends? Let's get real - the world is all about competition. Everyone wants to win."
With his head bowed low, felix left the company premises, each step feeling heavier than the last. The weight of the betrayal and the realization of the harsh realities of life pressed down on him, leaving him emotionally drained.
His anger boiled over as he walked down the street, his clenched fists and gritted teeth revealing the depth of his frustration. He felt a strong urge to lash out, to destroy anything in his path, fueled by the overwhelming anger and betrayal that courses through his veins.
He was fully aware of the predicament facing him as he contemplated finding a new job in another company. He knew that the reason behind his leaving the current job would be a major point of concern, and it would undoubtedly cast a shadow over his reputation. This reality added to the stress and anxiety he felt, knowing that it could significantly impact his chances of landing a desirable job.
He felt like he was trapped in a deep, dark hole from which there was no escape.
Night fell upon the city as the sun receded, casting a blanket of darkness over the surroundings.
Driving his bike through the quiet, darkened streets, his mind was consumed by a whirlwind of thoughts.
As the cool wind brushed against his face, a wave of nostalgia washed over Felix. The memory of the riverside, which held a special place in his heart, came to mind, bringing with it a mix of fondness and melancholy."God, that world was so much better than this one. I wish I could escape from here and go back there..."
As the memories flooded his mind, he couldn't help but think to himself. Somewhere in the depths of his mind, he missed the presence of that old friend, a girl whose memory brought both warmth and sorrow.
In a shocking turn of events, Felix's bike suddenly slipped on the road, and before he could react, a car came crashing into him. The impact was forceful, and for a moment everything went dark.To be continued...
