Reflections in the Dark

INT. WATCHTOWER - NIGHT

The room is dimly lit, illuminated only by the glow of the large computer monitor. The walls are lined with screens displaying various news feeds and surveillance footage. CHLOE SULLIVAN, late 20s, sits at the desk, her fingers hovering over the keyboard. She looks tired, her eyes heavy with unspoken thoughts. She takes a deep breath and begins to type.

CHLOE (V.O.)

Sometimes, I wonder if I’m just a footnote in someone else’s story. I’ve spent so much of my life helping others, but what about me?

She pauses, staring at the screen, her reflection staring back at her. She continues typing, her words flowing like a river of emotions.

CHLOE (V.O.)

Clark is my best friend, my confidant, but there’s always been this wall between us. I’ve loved him for so long, but he’s always been destined for something greater. I’m just… Chloe. The girl who knows too much and can do too little.

As she types, OLIVER QUEEN, early 30s, enters the room quietly. He’s dressed in casual attire, his demeanor relaxed but alert. He notices Chloe’s focused expression and leans over her shoulder, intrigued by what she’s writing.

OLIVER (reading aloud)

“I’ve spent so much of my life helping others, but what about me?”

Chloe jumps, startled, and quickly turns to see Oliver standing behind her. Her face flushes with embarrassment.

CHLOE

*Oh! Oliver! I didn’t hear you come in.*

Oliver raises his hands in mock surrender, a playful smile on his face.

OLIVER

Sorry, didn’t mean to invade your personal space. I was just curious about what you were working on.

Chloe quickly minimizes the document, but Oliver’s eyes narrow, catching a glimpse of her words.

OLIVER

Wait, don’t hide it. I was just getting to the good part.

Chloe bites her lip, torn between embarrassment and the urge to share her feelings.

CHLOE

It’s just… it’s nothing, really. Just some thoughts I needed to get out.
