"Sarang! Go wake up your sister!"

"Yes, Mom!"

Sarang headed to her sister's room and opened the door. Well, her half-sister's room.

"Saebi! Wake up!" she shouted, jumping onto her bed.

"Sarangg, let me sleep!"

"No! There's school today!"

"I don't want to go!" Saebi shouted.

"Wake up or I'll call Jeemin to help me!"

Saebi was terrified at the thought of hearing that name, a knot forming in her stomach. Jeemin was her worst nightmare. Saebi got up slowly and reluctantly started getting ready.

The three girls were finally ready for school. Sarang, Jeemin, and Saebi had been living under the same roof for a long time. Jeemin's parents worked for Sarang's parents, while Saebi had been abandoned by her parents at birth. Sarang's parents had kindly taken her in.

Once they arrived at school, their private driver left. Although the three girls lived together, they never hung out outside of home. Sarang was always with Jungeun; they were inseparable. Jeemin, on the other hand, was popular and didn't have real friends. Lastly, Saebi had no friends. Everyone ignored her for some unknown reason, and she was often bullied by Jessica and her friends. She wanted to tell Sarang, but Sarang was in love with Jeemin.

The bell rang, and students rushed to their classrooms while others lingered in the hallways. Saebi decided to skip class. She went to the gardening club, a place she loved not for gardening but to admire a pretty girl with chestnut-brown hair. She didn't know her name, but she could spend days watching her beauty and smile from afar. She never dared approach her—why would someone as stunning as that girl be interested in someone labeled as "weird"?

As the blonde admired the girl from afar, an injured bat fell to the ground. She noticed it and felt sorry for the creature. She whispered,

"I'll take care of you; don't worry!"

She smiled, and while taking the bat to a quiet corner, it felt threatened and bit her.

"Ouch!" she cried out, dropping the bat to the ground.

She held her finger, blood dripping from it, and sighed in pain as she made her way to the infirmary to get a bandage. When she was about to leave, she realized it was break time, with only two hours left before the midday recess.

Saebi walked alone through the crowded hallways filled with students. She wanted to go to the infirmary; she wasn't feeling well. Suddenly, she felt water splash onto her, soaking her white shirt, making it transparent to everyone's eyes, and drenching her long blond hair. She froze, knowing it was Jeemin. She didn't want to turn around—Saebi was terrified.

"So, you're skipping class, huh?" Jeemin asked with a sadistic smile, wrapping her arm around Saebi's shoulders.

Laughter and whispers filled the hallway; she could feel everyone's eyes on her. Saebi didn't know how to respond; she was paralyzed.

"Answer me, you bitch!" Jeemin added, grabbing her by the collar.

"L-leave... me..." Saebi stammered, her voice trembling.

"And why should I?" Jeemin laughed, mocking her mercilessly.

"What are you going to do? Cry in your mommy's arms? Oh, wait, that's right, she abandoned you at birth, your real mother."

Saebi felt tears streaming down her cheeks; she couldn't take it anymore. Jeemin noticed the girl's skin turning pale.

"Are you dying or something, turning that pale? Honestly, you might as well drop dead right now, you worthless bitch!" Jeemin struck Saebi, who fell to the ground.

The other students laughed, filming everything without an ounce of pity. And those who did feel sympathy stood by, doing nothing. Except one—Sarang had just witnessed the scene.

"Jeemin?... "

The tall brunette turned around and saw Sarang looking at her with disgust and anger. She hadn't expected Sarang to be there, and, in an instant, she regretted it.

"Sarang! I can explain everything!" Jeemin moved toward her.

"Don't come near me! You monster!" Sarang yelled, enraged.

The bell rang, and everyone dispersed. Sarang approached Saebi, helping her up and holding her in her arms. She placed her hand on the blonde's head.

"I'm here now; don't worry anymore," Sarang reassured her, holding Saebi tightly.

"Sarang... I don't feel well. My head hurts."

"Let's go to the infirmary. Follow me-..."

Sarang suddenly felt Saebi's fangs sink into her neck, and her blood started to drain away. She didn't understand what was happening. Saebi quickly pulled back, looking horrified.

"I-I'm sorry!" Saebi panicked, confused by the situation herself.

"Saebi, wait!"

"No, I'm a monster; Jeemin is right! I should just die; everyone would be happier!" she shouted, terrified of herself, before running away.

"Saebi!" Sarang called after her.

"Jeemin... I hate you! You'll regret this!" she declared, clenching her fists.

Note: Classes will prevent me from maintaining a regular update schedule, but I will do my best to manage! Additionally, a small part of Chapter 2 has been modified for better consistency with this chapter. I hope you enjoyed this chapter. This is just part of their shared past. Wishing you all a great day or evening.
