The story of juniperclan (VERY WIP!)

Chapter 8; Beneath watchful eyes...

As the patrol returns to camp, Glitchpaw and Frostedpaw are met by a group of familiar faces: Bushpaw, Cavepaw, and Lakepaw. Glitchpaw's friends circle around, their eyes shining with excitement at the sight of the returning patrol.

Bushpaw, a sandy-colored tom with an easygoing smile, bounds up first. "Did Fierceforest catch a fox this time?" he jokes, his whiskers twitching.

Cavepaw, a lean, gray-furred tom who's known for his fierce loyalty, eyes Fierceforest thoughtfully. "Probably scared the fox off before it even got near the border," he says with a hint of admiration, but there's an edge of suspicion in his voice, too.

Lakepaw, a gentle, soft-furred she-cat, nudges Frostedpaw, her voice a quiet murmur. "He's... intense, isn't he?" she asks, echoing Glitchpaw's earlier sentiments. "But no one can deny he's skilled."

Frostedpaw and Glitchpaw share a look, and Frostedpaw nods thoughtfully. "Yeah. Skilled... but there's something about him that feels different. Like he's always watching, but not just the prey or the borders." She pauses, glancing around. "Maybe....maybe something else."

Cavepaw nudges her playfully, trying to lighten the mood. "Well, that's Fierceforest for you. Half mystery, half muscle." But Frostedpaw can tell he's curious too, and the thought of Fierc-forest's intense words lingers in her mind. The group begins to break apart, each apprentice heading toward their nests or duties. As Frosted-paw curls up that night, she reflects on her first moon as an apprentice, the thrill of hunting, the kindness of Glitchpaw, and the unsettling mystery of Fierceforest. The clan has accepted her, but she can't shake the feeling that some of its secrets are still hidden in the shadows.
