Helios, a name bestowed upon him by his mother in the hope that he would grow to be as radiant as the sun, was inherently a kind-hearted child. He often engaged in playful and joyful interactions with his mother, Sophia, who exhibited kindness and gentleness in her demeanor. However, after the onset of a terminal illness that afflicted her, his father, Alexander, known as The Emperor, became increasingly distraught in his futile attempts to cure her over several months, ultimately leading to her death on a frigid winter evening.
Following the death of his mother, the boy's father became emotionally distant, neglecting his parental responsibilities and leaving him in the care of one of his concubines. This concubine, named Maria, treated the boy with kindness, nurturing him as if he were her own child from the age of eight until he reached his early teenage years (14). Eventually, Maria fled from the boy's father, who was subjecting her and his other concubines to abuse.
Following her departure, one of his father's esteemed generals took him under his wing and trained him to become an exceptional warrior. Helios distinguished himself as one of the youngest individuals to confront the general and emerge victorious. A few years later, at the age of 19, Helios's father was assassinated in a public setting, suffering a fatal injury that ultimately led to his death.
