— Estrella —

Today is my third day at this new residency, Monday was my first.

It was a really hard day the first but I mean nevertheless I enjoyed it.

One thing that could have made it a little better though was not having to deal with crying baby's so early in the morning, like don't get me wrong they're adorable as hell but oh are they menaces with their blood curdling screams as if someone was attempting manslaughter on them.

But I mean I chose it so I can't really blame anyone but myself so fair enough.

I enter the hospital and check in on the bottom floor at reception.

There's 4 floors in this hospital.

Floor one is for emergency calls from 111 and small things that need attention as soon as they can get it, it's also where patients check in before going to their respective places in the hospital on the other floors.

The second floor is where I work and that's where they keep patients in wards to prep them for surgery's or stuff like that. It's also where newborn baby's stay so nurses can check on them from time to time. Since I'm a nurse that's why I work on that floor.

The third one I'm pretty sure is the surgical one where they perform surgery's that are important but not like the majorly important that takes hours.

And the last floor is for all the major surgery's that can take around half a day to complete, everyone stays clear of that floor unless they're needed to perform a surgery. Other than that  no one's allowed up there because the directors made it clear we can't  mess with the equipment and make that area unsanitary. It's a highly self explanatory situation if you ask me.

Once I've fully checked in at the front desk I make my way to the elevator and wait for it to come down so I can take it to the second floor.

While I wait I glance to the stairs next to it. My coworkers told me the elevator is a more efficient way up and rarely anyone ever uses those stairs. It's basically abandoned and only necessary if there's a fire or as quick escape route if needed, otherwise it's vacant over there.

The elevator arrives a few seconds later catching my attention as I watch it waiting for it to open so I can step inside.

Once it dings indicating it's opening I wait for it to fully open then I step inside and press the circular button that says 2.

The doors are about to close but someone stops it with their hand. I panicked because it could crush their fingers and I quickly use my reflexes to press the button that reopens the elevator doors.

They open to reveal a man around my age I'm guessing by the looks of it.

He's wearing surgical scrubs and has his hair in the net they use to keep hair from falling out and messing ruining the surgery.

I look forward towards him now studying him, he's definitely got at-least 4 inches on my height making him taller than me, he's got a sharp jawline, a straight noise, deep bronze eyes and lightly tanned skin. I have to hand it to him he's somewhat good looking.

He looks at me with a smile, to which I return, then he hops into the elevator.

"Thanks." He offers one single worded response in appreciation, to which I just nod my head and silently look forward not bothering to hold an unnecessary discussion.
