First meet

Tharn’s POV

For the love of the gods, I desperately need a day off. But I can’t take one today—not after Alpha Pat, the stubborn old leader of the Darkmoon Pack, broke the peace treaty and attacked the Moonlight Pack. I don’t know much about the Moonlight Pack since they keep to themselves, but they’ve got a good reputation. The Alpha, I’ve heard, is young but leads like a seasoned warrior.

Alright, focus, Tharn.

Pat’s Darkmoon territory lies between my pack, the Sunlight Pack, and the Moonlight Pack. We’ve all coexisted peacefully thanks to the treaty. But now, with Pat’s unprovoked attack, every pack in the area is gathering for a summit in Moonlight’s territory to address what happened.

As we arrive, I can’t help but marvel at the place. The Moonlight Pack lands are beautiful. Everywhere I look, pups and omegas are training together, their movements in perfect sync. Impressive. It’s rare for a pack to train its omegas, but it’s a policy I’ve implemented in Sunlight, too, and seeing it here just deepens my respect for this Alpha.

When we enter the conference room, I immediately sense it—a rich, sweet rose scent that makes my wolf, Apollo, stir inside me. Mate, he whispers, over and over, howling with longing. I try to stay composed, but my heart races. I want to meet him. I want to meet my mate right now, but I have to keep my cool in front of everyone.

The meeting begins with an introduction from the Alpha’s right-hand, who announces that the Luna is about to enter. My wolf perks up, and I the mate bond growing stronger. Just as I’m about to wonder where the Alpha is, the doors open, and in walks the Luna.
