Chapter one...

Laura sighed as she climbed out of her parent's truck. It had been so long since she'd last been to Smallville She couldn't believe that the reason why they where back here was because her grandmother had passed away. "Laura come on" said Jonathan gaining Laura attention before she made her way into the house that once held so many happy memories. Laura Kent was the youngest member of the Kent family. She was also the only adopted member of the Kent family. Her parents where the very famous Clark Kent and Lois Lane some of the best reporters at the daily planet. Laura was 16 years old only a year younger then her twin brothers Jordan and Jonathan. She was the baby of the family but looking at her you'd never guess that. She often acted more mature then her brothers causing so many people to believe that she was the oldest out of her siblings. Laura pulled her dark brown hair into a tight ponytail before making her way into the house looking around with a fond yet sad smile. It felt like she had stepped back in time her grandmother didn't like change that was something Laura could understand and relate too. She hated change herself and sadly this was a big change. Her family would have to get use to everyday life without there daily calls from there grandmother. Laura sighed sitting down on the couch she didn't know what to do her parents where upstairs in the guess room talking while Jordan and Jonathan where more then likely outside in the backyard which had always been there favorite spot of grandma house.

Laura smiled looking at the side table by the couch grabbing the picture that was on it. She looked down at the picture frame with a fond smile. It was a picture of her grandmother when she was a little younger holding Laura who couldn't of been older then 4 next to them where her brothers who where 5 this was one of her favorite pictures she had been apart of the Kent family for about a whole year when this picture had been taken. But in this picture the adoption had finally went through making her a Kent officially. She gently ran her finger over her grandma face allowing a tear to fall down her cheek. "hey" came a voice behind her causing her to jump she turned around to see her brother Jordan "shit sorry didn't mean to scare you" he said sitting down next to her. "don't let mom hear you saying that" Laura said offering him a soft smile. Jordan laughed "I think this would be the one time she'd let that slide" he said causing Laura to nod "your properly right about that" she said Jordan took the picture frame out of her hand looking at it. "feels like a lifetime ago" he said causing Laura to nod "it does" she admitted taking the picture back placing it where it once sat. "did you need something?" she asked remembering her brother never told her why he had come back in the house. "oh yeah me and Jonathan are gonna check out the barn wanna come with?" he asked. "sure why not gives mom and dad a chance to talk about what they need to without worrying will overhear" she said getting up off the couch following her brother out the back door.

She followed Jordan to the barn where Jonathan stood waiting for them "do dad and mom know that were out here?" asked Jonathan causing Jordan to shake his head "no there upstairs talking about grandma funeral" said Jordan causing Jonathan to nod before opening the barn door. There father, mother and grandmother never really liked when they played in the barn so they where often told to stay away from here but all 3 of them needed to get out of the house just for a little while it was to hard being in the house espially since every room they went all they saw was there grandma. Laura entered the barn once the door was open Jordan behind her followed lastly by Jonathan. "whoa" Jordan said letting out a low whistle the barn was impressive Laura had no idea just exactly how big the barn had been. "I see why dad liked hanging out in here when he was growing up" Jonathan said making his way upstairs to where a loft was. "this place is cool if do you think mom and dad would let us to hang out in here if we help clean it up?" Laura had asked running her fingers over some pictures that where in the barn. She smiled softly when she saw the picture was of her dad as a young boy standing next to there grandfather Jonathan they sadly never got to met him. He died long before they had been born that's how her brother Jonathan got his name. Laura frowned she felt her heart break for her father she couldn't imagine the pain he was feeling right now having to say goodbye to your only remaining parent. She just hoped she'd never have to say goodbye to her own parents but she knew that it would happened someday her only hope was she wouldn't have to say goodbye to them for a long long time.
"what's this?" Jordan asked noticing there seemed to be a hidden spot in the barn Laura made her way to Jordan side while Jonathan rushed down the stairs from the loft. "what did you find Jordan?" Laura asked looking over her brother's shoulder "I don't really know" Jordan said pulling off what looked like a blanket once the blanket was off whatever Jordan had found Laura was confused what her brother had found looked like a small ship? "is that a ship?" Jonathan asked asking the very question Laura had running through her head. "it definitely looks that way" Jordan said running his hands around the side of the ship. That still felt weird to think let alone say. Laura watched as Jordan messed around with the thing in front of him not sure if they should really be messing around with whatever this was. After all there was a reason why there parents and grandma kept them from the barn could this be the reason?

After a few more minutes of Jordan messing around with the thing it opened causing the three siblings to lean closer to the ship "it's not really big is it?" Laura asked "it looks just big enough to fix a baby" Jordan said backing away slightly "why would grandma have this?" asked Jonathan. "I don't have a clue" Laura said looking up as she heard a noise. What was that? She thought it sounded like something broke while her brothers kept talking back and forth about what they had just found she made her way back to the main part of the barn still wondering what could be the noise that she just heard. She noticed there was another loft that was holding a bunch of pipes her eyes widen when she finally realized what the noise had been that she heard. The loft was breaking and it looked like it was about to collapse anytime. "Guys we need to leave!" yelled Laura rushing back to her brothers "why?" asked Jordan "ask me questions later!" she yelled pushing Jordan and Jonathan ahead of her she wanted to get them out before the pipes fell. Sadly they where to late the loft collapsed causing all the pipes to fall by them. Laura screamed as one of the pipes hit her leg causing her to fall. "Laura!" yelled Jordan reaching down to pick her up before any of the siblings could say or do anything else they felt a gush of wind before all the noise in the barn suddenly stopped. "what the hell?" asked Jordan still clinging on to his sister Laura wrapped her arm around Jordan neck trying to make it a little easier for him to hold her.
Laura felt her eyes widen when she looked back where the collapsed loft had been there standing in front of all 3 of them was there father all the pipes where stacked neatly against the wall the wood that was in the middle of the barn from the loft was also in a pile next to the pipes. "dad what? How?" asked Jonathan asked all three siblings were stunned not knowing what happened let alone why there father was now in the barn when only a moment ago he wasn't there.
Clark sighed taking his glasses off his face. Laura looked over as there mother entered the barn making her way to Clark side. "mom?" began Laura but Lois shook her head she looked a little upset "there's a reason why I asked you guys to stay out of the barn it could be dangerous this being the perfect example" said Lois glaring at her kids. Now Laura knew why she looked upset they had broken the rules that had been set in stone for so long.
"that doesn't explain how dad got here all the sudden or how everything is in a pile" said Jordan causing both there parents to sigh Laura had no idea why her parent's where acting like this this was more then disobeying a rule that they knew this was something bigger. "I was hoping to tell you 3 on better terms but since you all discovered the ship and more then likely have questions so I'm doing this now" Clark said making Laura frown what was her father talking about? The three siblings watched as there dad handed there mom his glasses before he locked eyes with them and started to fly. "what the hell?" Jordan asked looking at there dad in shock Jordan was in such shock that he dropped Laura "Ow!" yelled Laura glaring up at her brother for dropping her. Jonathan smacked Jordan before picking up Laura holding her tightly "how did you do that?" Jordan demanded after Clark had been in the air for a few moments he finally landed back on the ground making his way to his children Lois following behind him.
Laura had never seen her parent's look like this before she had no idea that the words that were gonna leave her father's lips would change there lives forever.
"I'm superman" there father said.
