Chapter 10

"Bhala uss raat aangan me mere kya aa raha tha,
Mai aankhein band kar ke jholiya faila raha tha,
Wo kehne ko to mera kuch nahi lagta tha lekin,
Bichad kar usse mera dil bahut ghabra raha tha..."

After that traumatizing incident that night Inaayat started ignoring Ryker's presence completely as if he doesn't even exist. She tries to avoid looking at him and feeling his presence near herself, her body starts trembling in fear. When she goes to her room for cleaning she doesn't even look at him and silently does her work as fast as she could without giving him a single glance.

On the other side she was avoiding coming in front of Abhinendra too which left him stunned because that's something she never did before. She hides inside the store room at the night time so that she won't encounter with Abhinendra at all. He waits for her in the room and find her everywhere too but never got hold of her which made him to fuck some prostitutes, needing the release badly.

Ryker also understood that she was scared by him but his actions were reflexive of the things which disturbs him. He hate touches and always stays alerted of the people around him. When Inaayat touched him, he was already having a nightmare and out of reflex he did something which scared her. He already knew that he should stay away from her and her ignoring him was the best sign for him.

He was also ignoring her as much as he could. Whenever she comes to his room for cleaning either he sits at the balcony or leave the room not wanting to scare her anymore but still there was something void and empty feeling he felt but didn't want to accept it. He stopped approaching her completely and the small moments between them also stopped like they both don't even know each other.

Inaayat was as usual doing the household chores while Urvashi was in the garden with her college mates having some chit chat with them. Arjun and Ryker were gone somewhere and rest of the family was inside the haveli. When Inaayat was done with her work she decided to head back to her room but suddenly a voice stopped her.

"Aye ladki sun! Wo Urvashi madam tujhe bula rahi hain." one of the maid said to her from behind which made a painful expression to come at her face but it vanished as soon as it came.
(Translation: Hey girl listen! That Urvashi madam is calling you.)

She nodded slowly and started walking out of the haveli towards the garden where Urvashi was sitting. Inaayat went there and stood there silently feeling everyone's gaze at her. She felt self conscious and started rubbing her toe with the other one nervously.

"A-Aap ne bulaya?" she asked almost inaudibly to Urvashi.
(Translation: Y-You called?)

"Haan bulaya tha. Jaa hum sab ke liye cold drinks le kar aa." Urvashi said dismissing her and got back in the conversation.
(Translation: Yes, I've called you. Go and bring cold drinks for all of us.)

Inaayat nodded and immediately went inside the haveli straightly walking towards the kitchen. She opened the door of refrigerator and took out a cold drink bottle. Pouring the liquid in the glasses and after placing them in the tray she carefully walked out of the haveli towards the garden. She placed the tray at the table and stood at a side silently.

"Wahan kyu bhoot ban kar khadi ho gayi hai? Isme barf kon dalega?" Urvashi asked her in a slightly annoyed tone.
(Translation: Why are you standing there like a ghost? Who will put ice in it?)

"A-abhi le kar aati hoon." Inaayat said timidly and again walked inside the haveli immediately.
(Translation: I-I'm bring it right away.)

Entering inside the kitchen she took out the ice trays and took out all the ice cubes in a bowl. Taking the bowl with her she reached in the garden hurriedly and placed the bowl at the table immediately. She could feel each and every girl looking at her but she didn't dare to look up at them and put the ice cubes in their glasses at the table. Then she stood aside wanting to leave as soon as possible.
