The rest of the first week goes by in a blur. Classes are, well, they're classes. We learn things, mostly how to not kill ourselves or others. I spend pretty much every meal with Mitchie and Leo. They are both VERY social, and some days we sit with the witches from the first day, and other days we sit with the dragons Leo got to know in his classes. They asked me if we should sit with the vampires one day, and I told them I haven't made any vamp friends.
I wake up to the sound of knocking on my door and groan as I look at the time on my phone. It's only nine in the morning. It is Saturday, why is ANYONE knocking on my door at this hour? There better be a damn fire. I drag myself out of bed and open the door. I end up staring daggers at a scared Mitchie.
"What?" I deadpan
"Uh, thought you might want to come to the rec hall."
"At this hour? No thanks, maybe later." I say trying to close the door, but she puts her hand out to stop me.
"You are seriously still sleeping? Come on," she says shoving her way in my room, "let's get ready."
I try, I really do, but like stated previously, I am NOT a morning person. You would think she would know this, considering I have practically DRAGGED my ass to the mess hall every morning for breakfast. I can't control it as my fangs slid down and I growl at her. She jumps back and throws her hands up. I point towards the still open door and when she walks through it I slam it shut and lock it before diving back into bed and the sweet release of sleep.
My joy doesn't last long, because within twenty minutes there is another pounding on my door. I throw a pillow at the door, hoping whoever is on the other side gets the hint, but they keep pounding. So I reach over to my study desk and grab my giant vampire ethics book and chug that heavy son of a bitch at the door, and the pounding stops. For ten seconds. I fly out of bed toward the door, and when I throw it open I do not hold back the snarl coming from my throat. "Get, fucking, LOST!"
This time, it's a startled Leo who jumps back at my rage. "Hey there sleepy head, I just wanted to give it a try. It is almost ten in the morning. They are clearing out breakfast and lunch won't be ready until one. I wanted to make sure you could eat."
I run my hand down my face, "I appreciate it, but for future reference, unless we make SPECIFIC plans, I do not want to be awake until noon on the weekends. Please, let me sleep, before you have a cranky half vamp to deal with all day"
He says no more, he just salutes and skips off down the hall. Damn dragons and faes with all their damn pep, I think to myself as I shut the door, AGAIN, and go back to sleep, uninterrupted.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When I finally emerge from my room, showered, glamoured, and RESTED, it is almost 2 in the afternoon. I head to the mess hall, to meet with Leo and Mitchie. I spot them instantly, kind of hard not too with her bright purple hair. I get my tray full of tacos, and join them at the table with dragons.
"There is our ray of darkness" Leo jokes
I throw a spoonful of beans at him and it lands directly in the middle of his forehead. It causes all the other dragons at the table to bellow out with laughter, and Mitchie has covered her face to hide her own giggle.
"You will absolutely pay for that," Leo threats, "you won't know when, but it will happen"
"Oh no, the big, bad, goofy dragon is gonna set me on fire. I'm so scared" I say mockingly while waving my hands in front of me.
The rest of the table is HOWLING at this point, causing many other tables to look our direction. Even the headmaster is inclining his head to see what the commotion is about, but when he realizes nothing hostile is happening, he moves on.
