The drive continued for a few more minutes, before Ashlyn seemed to exclaim at something, swerving the car quickly to avoid something in the road. "What the-!"

"Woah!"

"What was that for?" Tyler hissed towards Ashlyn, who glanced out the window, then back ahead. "There was a giant tree root in the road?"

"That's strange...this road is usually well maintained." Logan mumbled, looking out the back with a frown. Though he stumbled when the Jeep hit a bump, and Blake blinked, quickly grabbing her son to steady him. "Be careful kiddo."

"S-Sorry–"

"Are you sure this is the right road?" Ashlyn interrupted the two, and Logan fixed his glasses, looking over. "I'm positive...but there were never roots in the way."

Then the light brunette stuck his head out the window, looking around. "Ah! Yeah, there's the gas station we usually..." He pauses, his expression falling. "...Pass?"

Blake stuck her head out her window, staring at the gas station that was obviously run down and covered in vines.

"That's...not a good sign." Tyler commented, his eyebrows furrowing. "This is getting uncomfortable...maybe we should find a different road–" Ashlyn began, before looking to the side– Then her eyes widened, and she immediately slammed the gas, the Jeep bumping on the uneven road.

"Hey-! What's with the sudden speed?!" Tyler yelled as the Jeep ran over a root. "Ashlyn, what are you doing?!"

"Ashlyn– What's up?" Aiden asks, looking at the ginger in the drivers seat with what seemed to be a worried smile.

"Something...there was something in the trees..." She whispered, her grip on the steering wheel tightening. "What happened to the road?" Taylor looked behind herself with a worried expression, and Tyler sat forward slightly.

"Ashlyn, we should turn back! Something obviously isn't right–"

"We can't."

"Why not?!"

"Because– It's right behind us."

Blake sat up from her hunched position, her eyebrows furrowing in worry. Then she heard what sounded like loud footsteps– And an overwhelming scent of rotten flesh, and she snaps her head around, staring out of the window at the back of the Jeep.

And she immediately paled, staring at the creation behind the Jeep. It looked like this giant goddamn centipede–

Well this can't be good.

Blake zoned out the others talking as she stared at the creature, her heart rate increasing as she stared. She held onto the back of the Jeep–

She hasn't seen that thing in forever.

Not ever since she ventured a little too far from her house during her second week in the phantom dimension.

Not since then.

She never planned on seeing it again.

"Screw it." She heard Ashlyn hiss, swerving the car around a giant rock pillar, the creature following right behind. The centipede slammed a sharp foot down right beside the Jeep, banging up the door a little.

"Is everyone okay?!" Ashlyn yelled, and Tyler was quick to respond. "The door's a little banged up pretty bad, but none of us are hurt!"

Ashlyn didn't respond, instead swerving the car more, trying to avoid as many obstacles she could. Tyler got thrown from one side, to his door– Which clicked open.
